Bug Insurance [BIG FLAME]

I've lost all my sorceres armor/pyros staff/orny and much much more cause insurance leave with 900000 gold free in bank and 3mil check. I was dead and insurence leave, i reach the corpse, reinsure all, i die after 10' and all lost again, too hard to re-take...goodbye. Who refound me? This "so called " tecnician EA? This "so called" GM? Where is this "so called" joker when players call help???? Oh sure.... holiday.... but i paying during the Holiday like other days. I thinking to quit, there's not the first time for me.... Jesus 60mil lost........... I apologize with other players for my rude words and for my bad english but i'm very angry with the bad support of EA. BAD BAD BAD EA.

Actually there is a serious problem with insurance right now. I have a friend that lost two suits that were fully insured.

I think Game Masters are more worried about taking care of players saying URLs in game, bad words (which people could filter,) and assisting in figuring out if someone is truly AFK... rather than actually coming to someones aid, when a bug like this occurs.

Thank god GM's have their priorities in order..

Did you have auto-renew? I will ask before I ASS-U-ME that you didn't. It sound like you didn't but i have been hit with the same bug as has many others.

Oddly, it only happens to me when I have recently been around a certain guild who's game looks strangly different then mine, and who's members seem to be able to skip across the screen in an amazing fashion....

Yea somee funny stuff with insurance is going on lately. I lost my suit in fel the other day. I had Auto renew on and had gold in the bank and yada yada yada however its something else going on cuz it wasnt just my insured items i lost i also lost my blessed crimson. i was lucky and my suit was returned to me except the crimsons no one knows who got it or where it is but yea there is a huge bug of someshort.

as for the OP im sorry that you are leaving uo yet i can understand where you are coming from. I myself almost quit because of it. Im sorry for your lose.

The OPs armor is NOT set to auto renew. He stated it himself that he has to "re-insure his items" wouldn't have to do that if it was set to auto renew. *note: Maybe enough of these posts will get the powers that be to finally make it default when you insure something LOL who am i kidding?? ... this is a smart idea and will never get implimented.

Rule of thumb: Only insure stuff you absolutely need to play the game and don't carry stuff you DON'T need but want to keep. I can see insuring a 1000pt Luck suit but a LRC suit? Get real - The insurance will cost more than you'd spend for regs in a year.

The way i try to combat any insurance bugs and i urge other people to do the same is i try to atleast once a week cancell the insurance on all your stuff then re-insure it, its worked for me so far as iv never had any problems losing stuff (except that one time i forgot to insure my newly aquired folded steel glasses )

ok i'm not a newbye of ultima online, i know insurance, i have see "INSURED" on my Armor, i have reinsured all my armor BUT i've lost all, this is a BUG. I don't know why, I can't repeat always this bug but sometimes appears, if ONE GM can ask me i can show this.

I think he said he has trouble with English a bit, from what I see he's saying that he had gold in the bank but his armor, which was INSURED, suddenly UNINSURES. If this was something he saw all the time then you might ASS-U-ME that he didnt have the "keep it insured" thing going. I think hes saying his armor UNINSURED so he HAD TO rush to reinsure it THIS TIME as it was a BUG and then he died again and it was again UNINSURED from the bug. For my two cents, this game has never been buggier and yeah I would rather they concentrate on fixing bugs then do *anything* else at this point. I crash sixty percent of the time I try to get into Mel and it's not just me, others are crashing as well. Also at Mel's door to get the keys. My pets don't listen right with all one twenty skills, I get "line of sight" problems trying to honor things even the monster is KILLING me it says I didnt have line of site to honor it, partys crash going to DOOM on the ferry and can't get in so skulls are wasted, I could go on and on and on and on and on....

That has happened to me a few times and I do think there is a bug with the insurance. You auto renew and it doesn't do it. It sucks bad to lose good equipment.

This "bug" never actually was reproduced. I'm not saying it doesn't exist (nobody actually knows). But I'm saying that, to my opinion, it probably is the player's fault. There are some things you have to know about insurance, and even experienced players sometimes forget about them.

- Toggle auto-renew insurance, especially when you created a new character.
- Have enough gold in the bank, especially when you die more than once.
- Insure EVERY item, and make sure it really is insured.

I assume that there is no bug, and people just forgot one of the above. Happened to me too, once. Created a new char, died twice and lost everything. It took a while before I found out that I had forgotten to toggle auto-renew.

There does seem to be a lot of people reporting this problem. They have the funds in the bank, auto insurance is on, they die and poof some thing goes poof. Poor cerri had this happen to her, but I do believe i know what she did wrong. She didn't have enough money in the bank, died but was able to retrieve body. Made money (borrowed from sisters) went out died, noticed that it seem like the body still had stuff. (this was going to Casca). Didn't really think to much about it. Went to Casca got rezzed and was pretty much naked. Couldn't get to body. Thought to self, hum, log out log in surely stuff will magically appear. No luck. My thought is that since i didn't have the money the first time, every that dropped uninsured and I didn't check to make sure it was still covered. ooops lost some pretty good necro gear.

I too have been having insurance issues (although different then what you have been experiencing), and at first i thought i had just forgotten to select auto reinsure, but after making sure it was enabled and playing for a few days all the sudden it had reset (and yes I had pleanty of cash in the bank), im thinking maybe there is a bug/player script that is effecting the auto reinsure. To combat this before I go out, I (like wee papa) uninsure and reinsure all items and it seems to help safegaurd against it. As for the blessed crimmy,that might be linked to that nasty script that makes blessed/insured items drop, my hubby was hit with that one a few times in fel

The devs have already given an answer to this problem. Its has something to do with insured items being sold on player vendors. The solution is very very simple. If you buy something that is insured on a vendor. Right after you buy said item. Uninsure it and then reinsure it. Or the best way.(which is my way) is dont buy anything from player vendors as they all way over charge for items that still drop in game.

I will put in my 2 cents on this one. Been playing for 9 yrs, I know the most the ropes. Make all my own stuff, never bought any armor off a vendor. (Well, at least not for 5 or more yrs anyway). Haven't created a new char in several years. Have auto-renew on all my chars. Always keep at least one mill gold in coin form in bank when I go out hunting/fighting. All chars have back up checks in the banks too.

Killing golems looking for gears, I die. No biggie. Happens all the time. Get rezzed, putting all my stuff on - everything is there. As I always do, I check to make sure it all is still insured. Yep. Everything says insured. Go back to fighting. Damn, die again. Get rez'd. Putting stuff on... no gloves. Get to my corpse - there they are. In the corpse. They still say insured. Outta curiousity I recall to a bank immediately - over 700k in gold there.
So, explain how these gloves didn't make into my backpack when I was rez'd. IMHO, that is a bug.

Shrugs, life goes on, I don't fret about it, but would be interesting to figure out what is causing it. And personally, I don't think it is always the players fault. Sure, there are definitely times where we make mistakes and forget things. anyways I now ramble. later mates.

I have lost two sets of taming jewelry that were insured. I always have auto renew on.

After I lost the first set, I went over all my armor to see if it says insured and it did, got my back up set of slightly lower skills, checked if it was insured, died again, stuff lost again.

Also, was in Fel with reds nearby.
