Me too. I was getting to feel I wasn't allowed to eat, sleep, clean house or (heaven forbid) play uo in case I missed a personal attack on the board and got taken to task by the person attacked.

it wont stop as long as getting a thread eventually locked after a good 50 of roc violations is all that ever happens. its not us making you have all the work, its the mods themself. so stop complaining and do your job instead of telling us how hard you make your job. *nods*

How about you all make it easier for us to do our 'jobs' (which pay £0, $0 and 0gp) by reciprocating and making a bit more effort to do yours. ie making at least a token effort to keep the agreement that you entered into to abide by RoC when you signed up for a Stratics posting account. I can post without resorting to name calling, why can't everyone else?

I almost hate myself for agreeing with Shak, but he's right. There's no point to having a RoC if no one enforces it. Either drop it all together or enforce it, but whatever you do, be consistent.

For instance:

- Kelmo makes a big post a while back warning us that STFU will not be tolerated, yet every thread these days says STFU, STFU, Shut up, STFU.

- Petra makes a post saying we aren't allowed alter a persons username in order to poke fun at them, yet I still see Goodcry, Tard, I-****-O and others being used on a fairly regular basis.

I don't want to see people banned left and right, but consistency and knowledge that someone.. anyone is moderating, would be more condusive to a smooth running forum.

I'd say the warnings about warnings are actually pretty scary. I changed one of my posts already... look hard enough and you'll find a post I edited with the reason marked as "afraid"

I don't like giving out warnings, or infractions. I can keep the promise I made to abide by RoC without threats of restriction of my posting privileges and I expect others to be capable of doing the same. However if I have to hand out infraction points as well as just moving offending posts off the board, then that's what I'll have to do.

The complaints and observations about consistency and mod coverage may be valid, but the system is what it is. Volunteers can not provide 24/7 coverage. There will be some inconsistencies in application. This should not be a major issue if the folks posting here maintain a modicum of decency and respect.

That being said, the honeymoon with the new Stratics is over. You will be held accountable for your actions here. If that means the end of forum PvP as you know it, so be it.

All i ask is to say your word and keep your word the board "pvp" is ridiculous. It always starts off with a small kick in the shin to someone then that person posts and trys to 1 up them next thing you know everyone in the thread is getting their soul kicked out of them. I dont know how you people can even treat each other this way, i know its a small community but thats suppose to be good i for one love knowing the people i play with knowing their templates,knowing how their play style works out and being able to just drop guilds sometimes and talk to people but sometimes it just turns into high school style drama. Seriouslyl i dont mind people posting that their guild has done something great but to see the next guild come on here and tell them why they sucked and why they are the better guild is just annoying is it really that hard to say damn you got us this time but next time its OURS!! Dont get me wrong guys winning is fun but its not everything think about the people around you before you crush their hearts WE are siege no matter what guild you are in your still part of this small community, a great community. Just think about how you would treat some people if you actually knew them in your guild and not your enemy guild. And just like everything else in life..their are exceptions just dont publicly flame them on boards. Now give me a hug and go back to playing with the peopel you have known for so longs

You have to consider the fact that there are 2 kinds of posters on stratics (1) the liked, and (2) the disliked, the things you claim never happen actually does happen, it ONLY happens to the disliked and not the liked. Not everyone is on the corner of "Easy Street and Got it Made Blvd" like yourself. So please speak for yourself only when you make claims that "Nothing happens when the ROC is broken", cause sometimes "something happens" to the disliked even when the ROC IS NOT broken, it's just all in who you are.


Mods: I understand you have to become firm on these boards in order to keep everyone happy, but let's not forget that this forum is one of the better avenues for recruitment here on siege. People like how active the siege forums are, and lets face it, the stage on the field is set right here on this very forum. What happens on the field depends greatly on what's said on this forum, and if you take that away, then you're killing the heart of siege. My 2 cents and not a penny more.

Siege board is the most leniently modded of all the shard boards. I try particularly hard not to let my personal feelings influence my decisions, reading posts on 'live feed' where I read the post first and who posted it second.

Yes, but do try and understand that siege hasn't always been blessed with mods like you and Mo'gluk, who happens to be 2 of the better mods I have seen.

Inaccurate. Nobody, as far as I'm concerned, has immunity.

Kelmo and I have both said we're tightening up. For the past few weeks, on these new boards, we've just shifted the posts out of sight. Now we'll be making more use of the new infraction system. I think we've said all we need to on this subject.

One misconception that many of us, including myself, have operated under is that Siege forum is different from the other forums. We have all sort of believed that we could get away with more on Siege than other forums.

This is not the case. The same RoC that applies to Uhall or any other Stratics forum, applies to Siege. Please post respectfully.
