As many Know i play UO and WoW. Like many i worrie about my accounts. Well Blizzard just posted this:

Blizzard Authenticator Introduced
Posted by: Nebu| 6-26-08 6-26-08 To help players avoid unauthorized account access, we're introducing the Blizzard Authenticator, a keychain token that generates codes that must be entered when signing in to the linked World of Warcraft account.

If EA would offer theses like Blizzard there would be less accounts being hacked. It's $6.50 but you can bet i will buy one to protect my account.

I think too many peaple use the term "hacked" very loosely, instead of taking the blame for their own stupidity.

IMO,you don`t get hacked....you invite trouble by using certain websites or DL`ing certain programs, etc, etc.Than once your stuff disappears its all like......I BEEN HACKED! OMG! Its totally not my fault! Someone hacked my account!

Don`t think so Tim. :bs:

If they followed Blizzard's lead we would have an overall better game period.

Yeah it's amazing how Blizzard manages to sell something they owe to players. But frankly, EA takes great care of us, making us pay the maximum fee of the MMO market for a 10 years old 2D game, pay for expansions and even has an online shop to buy items you can't have through regular gameplay. Who's the best milkmaid now?

You were hacked , or keylogged or whatever NOT Blizzard. No one hacked Blizzards servers and retreived your account information. If you dont have a good password and change it often and take steps to secure your computer properly it is NOT Blizzards fault.

No one outside of the sphere of UO care about UO and there is no real money to be had hacking UO accounts. Yea, maybe like a quick $100 or something but WoW items and gold are big dollars and big business.

The fact that you were hacked 3 times tells me a lot about your computing habits.

The fob Blizz is selling is usually $50 . Im sure they get a great deal since they will buy so many but I'm quite certain that this is a break even or loss deal. The money they will save in not having to deal with all the stolen accounts will certainly make up for it.

Anyone complaining about the *gasp* whole $6.50 OMG *gasp* can just change their password more often and make a sersious effort in keeping their computer clean. Or they could just buy it and not worry. I mean , what does $6.50 buy now-a-days anyway? 1 gallon of gas? Maybe a pack of smokes? Lunch at a heart-attack-food-chain? Id rather have a secure account, skip the burger and fries.

I carry an RSA Token for work. The last thing I want is a keychain full of RSA tokens for every game I play. 2-factor authentication has it's place, but I won't use one for recreational purposes. My bank account, Paypal, work, and maybe even eBay are worth protecting, but I'll leave games out of that mix.

If I can't keep my computer clean and free of worms, trojans, rootkits, and keyloggers, then I deserve to lose my password. There are way too many ways to protect your password without a token, but if it makes you feel safer, go for it.

how can you have a better game when devs intentionally break it to make money off dupers?
Man you really are out there aren't you...

OMFG THE DUPERS ARE EVERYWHERE AND THE DEVS AND GMS ARE IN ON IT TO!!!!!

Dude get real you can't be serious with this crap.

You really think the developers are intentionally breaking the game for a few people to cheat so they can make a lil money off of it when in reality they would only LOSE money doing that because of all the legit players that would leave.

No I don't think the devs are in on anything except burning down the homes of people who cheat rather than opening up opportunities for them to further destroy the game. Items that really were duped such as vine cords and event shrouds going bye bye is not a sign that the devs are in on it like you say. Houses being burned in massive sweeps to eliminate cheating doesn't really indicate they are in on it. So chill on the everyone is a duper even the devs it's getting old...
