House Placing Question

Alright, This might be kind of a weird question..

When a house falls or is demolished, has anyone else had things pop up to block a new house being placed in the same location ?

A house next to mine fell awhile back, when i tried to place in that location later that day rocks had popped up and now block the location.

Is this a normal occurrence ?

If a house falls, now there is a timer, which is blocking a fresh placement for a random time. (In this case you get a message about placement being temporary unavailable.)
I think you can place over some rocks, depends from their type and may also be from the house boarders and type.
If there are houses on the backside, their stairs may block the placement of the same kind of house, because they fall into the 5 tiles calculation.
Sometimes the fallen house may have been placed under less restrictive rules or using a bug, both causing it to be unreplaceable.
So without seeing the spot it is hard to say, which statement fits.

As I found out recently (after having recently found out and forgotten already) your game screen (2D) must be in the upper left hand corner of your screen in order to place a house. If it's not, it will give you the message that something is blocking the placement. Most small rocks can be placed over, but if your game screen isn't in the right location, the house won't place no matter how many times you try.

And yes, it is common for small rocks, flowers, plants, etc to pop up in the static environment.

It can be hard to cause the house to attempt to place in the spot you expect it to. Clicking on the ground doesn't work quite right much of the time, it seems to place in a position different than you thought you clicked for.

I am finding that targeting my own health bar is working well. The house places with me standing in the middle of the front steps that way. At least that way I have consistancy in house placement testing.

If a rock or other object can be pushed through, it should be possible to place over top of it. The house also has to have 1 tile of clearance between it and objects that cannot be pushed through.

The ground not being absolutely flat on every tile that the foundation occupies blocks house placement today, but didn't in all times past. So, some houses that are in place right now are not re-placeable in the same spot for that reason.

I don't think that placement-blocking objects would appear spontaneously? (not sure if that's what you meant)

Connor, that is not true. I always play with my game in the bottom left corner and place just fine whenever I try.

Actually, none of the objects I listed would block the placement of houses. It's large rocks and those dang small scraggly trees that are the most likely to block housing. My points was that those items wouldn't block although they will appear randomly, and it's more likely that it's the physical placement of the game window that would give that message.
