Let's see if more regulations from EA and Stratics will hurt or help UO.

We will know in six months. But this really has little effects on EA and Stratics. EA has many other games and Stratics has developed itself well to serve other gamers, too.

I cannot see how a 12 year old game could possibly operate much longer if they continue down the current path of slapping all of their players in the face. Not to mention the fact that what made UO so popular over the past decade is how much freedom they gave the players.

They are going down a path, trying to make UO popular, but they fail to realize that new players are not going to flock towards an outdated game. Especially if they start to treat it like a fascist experiment. I for one no longer feel the same freedom I once felt while playing UO. I dont know or care about whom ever your talkin about. But ea hasnt slapped me in the face since 2000. they are doing good givin the current rule set in my book.

Well you better start caring. The current state of this game and their lack of advertisement to recruit new players. With this last round of bans they have left a lot of players wondering if they will be next. I have been playing since 1999 with no interruptions of my accounts, and the last few days I don't have the urge to play this game anymore. I reported a vendor selling barbed runic kits. Over 30 in 2 days and players got banned for owning these kits and the vendor is still selling these kits today.
When Wilki was here we got regular news updates. I always felt when he banned someone their was not a doubt these people were guilty. He got on stratics and laid the law down. We have no clue whats going now, no leardership in the dev department, no service in the GM department and I have not seen a real GM in over 2 years. And I play almost every single day. I had 4 accounts, I closed one a month ago and I just closed another one tonight. I am going to start packing the other two accounts and let them expire.
Unless EA can pay Jeremy off of your subscription you better start caring.

If people dont cheat be it duping,scripting,buying items/gold from brokers then they have nothing to worry about. Just because some morons wanted to take the easy route either buying thier way ahead or duping and got burnt I should feel EA is slapping me in the face? I dont think so man! Homie dont play that!! The last Vine Cord episode EA said BUYER BEWARE!!! simple as that, I feel nothing for any of these people nor do I care. UO would be around in some form be it through EA or other means.

EA dosn't offer what I want out of UO what I singned on to play 11 years ago. at one time i had more than 10 accounts now im down to just 2 and only a couple weeks to 1. Becuase of the mass bannings? lol hardly. What came with UO:R and then AOS+ is whats killing it for me. W/o any of that crapola this game would still be the best and on top.

You want an indication where the game would have been without it - consider the fact that all of the players on UO who want that rule set are squeezed into 2 shards (SP and Muggen) and yet those 2 shards combined don't have the population of any single normal shard.
No they aren't exactly Pre-Ren, but they are as close as you can get in UO today.

AoS is another story. New lands - great. New skills - ... okay... Properties on everything - yay! I'm going back to get a math degree so I can play a game!

tram is by far the worst thing to ever hit UO
it was like a hard left jab
followed by a good right hook known as AOS

Uo got up staggering and continued for another round with a few bandaids on it only to get kicked in the sac by the boots of KR (King ******)

Uo is currently in the hospital in the critical care section undergoing what seems to be inadequate medical attention. Due to lack of security on his room I expect one of the dark ones to sneak in and pull the plug on the life giving machines he is attached to.

So...this debate is approaching the SnR stage hehe...
No disrespect meant to anyone, but erm...questions regarding our policy change can be asked in the other thread and I'll answer them there...and again...please quit associating our policy change with anything EA is doing or has done.

We certainly could have waited to bring about the policy change, but we wanted to make this change at the same time the rest of our forums were finished so once it's all done...we can move on to some fun stuff.

So please...just let the issue rest

I can. You guys love the slapping. It's like an abusive relationship where the person just stays no matter how many chairs they gte smashed over the head, no matter how many eggs they get thrown on the face, no matter how many bananas the locals stick in your tailpipe, you just stick around tolerating it and angrily complaining thru rants and butter posts instead of just stop giving them your accounts on accounts of subscriptions. Their are other good games out there much better who's companies run the game opposite of this.

Duck, wack! Another pie in the face. Smash! Another virtual chair over the head.

At least finally this forum is stopping the greed and helping of destroying the game's economy.

Wrong. As I said in another thread, Tram is the reason UO is still here. If every Tram player were to quit the game today, you'd be receiving a 30 day notice from EA/Mythic tomorrow.

If they even bothered to give a 30 day notice and not just turn the game off.
