How are the people in GL ?

I am moving to the US soon and I was wondering what the PVP status is like on Great Lakes, and possibly any other populated US shard?

A few questions I wanted to ask:

1) Is there a large percentage of cheaters (speeders and so on) on this shard/other US shards

2) Is it dominated by one guild, or are there even fights around the whole shard

3) Is Yew gate the hotspot or will I be able to find a fight in destard/terra/t2a spawns quite often ?
