Having trouble going through my own portals.

The last couple days it has been hard to walk though my own casted portals. I keep getting the message "Your soul lacks the cohesion(sp?) at this time" or something like that. A few times the portal would pop before I could go through and I would have to cast anouther one and try again. Is anyone else having this trouble?

That's been a long standing problem with gates for years. All you can do is try double clicking the gate a few times, or entering from the opposite side. You can also try walking away from it several tiles, then trying again.

Yes problem has been around forever, usually occurs if you try to enter your gate right after it has been cast. Workaround as explained to me by a dev over a yr ago, if you wait 3-5 secs after casting the gate spell before you enter gate you wont experience this issue.

Always did love the fact that they knew a workaround but not a fix for the issue

Since this issue has been around for like 9 (?) years I do sincerely doubt there's an easy fix for this issue.

Just learn to cope with it ;).

If you play with the sound on, you can hear a sound effect when the gate appears. Just wait until the sound effect completes, then dbl click or step through. Works for me.

i always think of it as 'the server is too busy at this time'... so, if that's the actual case, there is no 'fix', and you just need to wait a few seconds and try again.

it's not a bug or any kind of issue, it's a fix to black holing.....

Yeah, that's common.

Just wait till the sound of the opening of the gate is over. That's usually good enough.

Usually if I bless myself Im able to go thru after getting that message
