im glad they banned these dupes. Ok MAYBE we will find that one or two are unjust... however, im sure thats not the case. but still. High 5's all around to the ones who pulled the banning stick out and started using it again.

Can't make some people happy. They complain about all the dupes, then complain that the "WRONG PEOPLE" were banned. I just assume that the people with all the info (read developers) actually know what they're doing, and didn't ban someone for "buying a couple hammers" or even 8-10 hammers The last time we had a bunch of bannings, Wilkie said they had made a mistake on "ONE PERSON". Odds are they didn't make a mistake this tiime, but if so, I bet you can get it corrected eventually.

But the main thing is GREAT JOB!!! Keep it up!

The devs are doing what often seems to be a thankless job under difficult circumstances. Good job on all the good bans that were handed out. If there were one or two that weren't deserved, I'm sure they'll get sorted, but something tells me they were pretty much all deserved, even if the bannees didn't understand why at first - or wouldn't admit it...

The biggest complain I have is that the banning comes not soon enough. Dev should seriously consider put some tag on all of the high end and rare in game items. Those tags should be monitored on a daily basis. If there is sudden increase in the number of items, Draconi's team should immediately start investigation. Dev should not rely on players' report on those major exploits. Meanwhile, the info should be passed to the player base via uo.com and log in screen. This way, players can get timely notification of the "possible" dupes.

The banning is a welcome step toward re-establishing the dignity of the game. Like I said in another thread, the collateral damage, if there is any, is mainly caused by the cheaters. Improvement in game desigen, like the tracking system I mentioned above, will certainly reduce the damage to minimal.

i have to agree. the first general gist I got out of all of this was there was a posibility they were banning people for buying an armor piece that was a dupe, or if someone picked up a verite hammer a while back that wasn't even cheap but was a resell from a cheap sale, or such and such. From what Jeremy said, if you just bought a hammer or a kit and tried to make something in your basement, you aren't being banned. I haven't bought anything but a potion keg in months anyway, but it was making me paranoid the way people were sounding that invisible gms were searching through databases and might decide I shouldn't have something and were clicking delete account while laughing maniacally. Pardon me if over time that has become something I would actually consider a posibility. Wierder things happen. If they are getting rid of cheaters and child wage slaves shackled to computers in Canadian basements making bods to dupe and whatnot then good.

Yes, ive just recently started reading these forums even tho ive been playing a long time, and it seems theres alot of bashing of the people that are making our world better again. I mean theyve brought real events and storys to the game again, for so long there was nothing.

Seems to me like they were only token bannings. One person is saying that only one of their 10 accounts was banned, and another is saying that their rares museum account is still intact.

Jeremy is one tough little woman ... A lot of stuff has been thrown at her the past few days, and I see her sense of humor come through on a lot of her posts.
It has to be a tremendous job to be a meat shield for an entire game, and I'm be willing to bet most of us, myself included, could not take the pressures of her position.

Arrr, well said, pirate. I'm trying to help the dev team as much as I can while giving feedback here but that doesn't mean I will marry any of them When I see something that bugs me, I'll grumble.
I've read about Tina Small / Poo and this is indeed a bad case. But flaming on the one, hugging on the other side won't get us one step forward. The devs rely on our experience and knowledge. Emotions should be kept at bay.

I liked the last event and the Spring Cleaning was a good idea as well. Some folks who play have become so obsessed with the value of game items that they will never be satisfied with anything.

What about fun? What about actually having an event where you could send in a lower level character and at least get a cloak and ticket?

Every single one of my chars that finally got to play in an event, and actually get something to show for it will give a hug.

And whether you like/dislike the current event, or spring cleaning... the fact is there was a lot of work required to implement those events and a lot of programming to accomplish it as well.

We ARE getting attention from the Devs and EA staff. They ARE working at coming up with new things to keep us happy and busy playing.
