Massive barbed runic kit seller on all servers

Same setup on many servers, below are the ones I found.

Every one get instantly restocked if you buy them.

Every one named the same shop and vendor name.

Every one stocking bkits overlapped in upper left hand corner.

Every one has only 5 at a time (obviously they know they'll get banned if they continue to sell 100 at a time)

Every one named BKIT 2.0

Every one selling them 2 mil each.

It couldn't be any more obvious they are the same person. Please check this account out.

BTW, yes I know its possible for a player to get 5 bkits just playing the game legitimately. It might even be possible to get 5 bkits just playing the game legitimately on 7 servers (probably more), thats only 35 kits. I'm just saying its worth a look, ESPECIALLY when they're selling the bkits cheaper than they've ever been sold on most of those shards in recent history, and ESPECIALLY because they have the same old duper-pricing of Atlantic. They're trying to diversify themselves now to all shards with 2 mil bkits just because they know they can't sell 1000 a week off atlantic anymore, please check em out.

Its my personal opinion that if you send something to EA directly, they don't do anything about it anytime soon. I have personally mailed Jeremy about various massive ... incredibly massive ... exploitation in the past, with absolutely zero results for many many months. I then bring the issues to the public and it gets fixed ALOT faster.

Right now her email box is full of people saying "I didn't do it give me my stuff back!". I believe the devs are sampling stratics right now seeing the public's reaction to the bannings. This is by far a better forum for getting things done than emailing EA.

Probably shooting myself in the foot dissing their poor direct response while asking for their help at the same time, but it is true and if anyone wants to debate the subject I have pleanty of stories about how they ignore massive exploitation until you call them out on it to the public.

They ban this guy and bkits go back up to 4ish million each I'll take it all back and call myself a liar and bow to Jeremy as savior of sosaria.

Damn... The vendor on Napa took off the barbed kits... I went checked a little while later. He put 5 more on... I went back and there were 2 left. Sat and watched a few minutes.. Those 2 sold in minutes. Guess what? He has 5 more on the vendor.

None of them have the intelligence to realize the game is incrimentally backed up in case of server failure?

It has been stated they cannot review backups without restoring it to a server, and is considered a major undergoing. So I doubt any reviewing will be done anytime soon (soon as in SA is coming to a store near you soon)

Name 1 item you could dupe and sell for 100 million?

Name 1 item you could dupe and sell for 30 million?

What you going to dupe? Server birth rares and event items? Sorry they have been overduped and oversold far less than 30 million and scream "ban me i'm a duper".

Adding 1 more level of complexity, the item has to be consumable. That means when you stock 250 million gold worth of duped items, you come back to the vendor the next day to stock another 250 million. That bkit vendor i posted on earlier was selling at least 100 bkits a day ... 200 million gold.

A bod books makes 5 bkits fit into 1 slot. 10 million gold a slot, 1.25 billion a backpack full ... I don't know how they were duping but I don't know anything else they could dupe for 1.25 billion a backpack and expect for it to all be sold within a week on atlantic.

Bkits change into a new item when you hand it in, the bod becomes a bkit, i'm assuming that "laundering" makes it a whole lot more difficult for dev's to trace.

2 million hasn't been the "going rate" for a long time, 2 million has been the dupers huge volume sales on atlantic for a long time, whereas other servers in the last month there's been times you couldn't hardly find any for sale and certainly not at 2 million. And now the fear of banning is out there, suddenly all servers have "BKIT 2.0" vendors, each with 5 bkits, each 2 mil each, vendor and shop both named same way? This is someone trying to spread themselves out so they're not caught with 100 bkits on vendor anymore.

Impossible. If he isn't banned, he's innocent. EA did a good job without any mistake.

This thread actually seems quite scary to me. It's quite analogous to a witchhunt. I am all for reporting peeps/vendors/activities that appear to be exploting/duping/scripting. But I'm concerned that as players we are taking it upon ourselves to become judge and jury.

Totally with you on this yalp. it has become a witch hunt - i've seen books littered around atl, saying 'this is a duper vendor - house owner, why do you let him stay? are you a duper too?'

I do not believe any longer that the owner of these homes are totally innocent. One day, I was stealthing through luna (as you do) and low and behold the owner of the house who is hardly ever seen is in the house, and so is the person stocking the BRKs vendor.

First, we have no powers to be judge. Jury? maybe.

I can't speak for other severs. I will just speak from what I have seen on the Napa server. This guy sold 10 barbed kits just yesterday. And there are 5 more on them as I am typing. This vendor has not been empty in weeks. So he has put 15 kits on that vendor in one day. Now Yalp of Zento, have you ever owned 15 barbed kits in one day? Would you sale those kits for 2million when just a few months ago they were 5 million? I know I have never had more than one in a few months. There is hardly anyone selling bods on Napa so he can't say he is getting small bods from vendors.
And apparently this guy is set up on more than one shard. Unless you are friends with this guy, you cant say this is a normal.

With the things I have seen i wish I were on this jury.

The point of my post was missed.

I do not disagree with the arguments laid out that something is indeed stinking up the joint. My concern is when PLAYERS and not EA take matters into their own hands because they believe something is afoot. It is not for US to lay out books, spam "DUPER" and monitor the habits of these people. It is not for US to actively work to stop their traffic. It is for EA to monitor and investigate and take action.

I agree with those who have expressed extreme frustration over EA's slow response/no response to the problems of duping and scripting and cheating. IMHO, the failure of EA to act does not mean we, the players or the posters to stratics, should be taking actions into our own hands. This is the danger, this is the road I do not consent to go down.

Yeah but people can't constantly monitor all the vendors on their plot.
You can't foresee if someone is going to sell shady goods on your plot.

For example...you're going on a two week trip to (where ever)...and in the meanwhile one of the people who are renting a space at your shop decided to start dealing in shady goods..and sells them on the vendor..

No player can "Take Action" upon another.

The people at EA/Mythic have to "Take Action".

Block Watches are highly successful methods of keeping neighborhoods safe.

The Block Watchers just don't get to raid the Crack Houses...the Police have to do that...they just report the suspicious activities.

As soon as EA/Mythic tell us that they are turning the ability to action and/or ban accounts over to UHallers...well...then get worried.

Very worried.

Until then, be a good Block Watcher, and help us clean up the game that we love!

My only worry is that too many people will report too much stuff for the Game Police to investigate, and that a lot of it won't be stuff that needs investigating.

This, on the other hand, definitely needs to get some attention!

I do NOT agree with spreading books etc., as no one other than EA/Mythic can actually know, with 100% certainty (i.e. See all they need to see to know with 100% certainty) what is going on. I strictly believe that if something looks suspicious, that it gets reported to EA, but the book spreading is out of line, IMO.

You can choose to not rent out vendor space to other people.

If you can't trust people to only sell legitimate stuff, you can't trust people to run vendors at your house. It's that simple.

I think homeowners need to be held accountable for the vendors at their house. I don't think the homeowners need to be banned. I just think that they need to lose the house. With great power comes great responsibility. If they can't handle the responsibility, the privalege should be removed (the house should go *poof*.


In short, I think if a duper vendor is found on a house, the house should be deleted. All vendors owned by someone other than the house owner or the duper should remain for a period of time. I don't think other tenants should be punished for the homeowner's bad judgement.

The guy must sell 100 bkits a day. He's responsible for nearly 50% of all bkits being sold in Luna on all servers at the same time, but because he's the cheapest and restocks instantly, he very well could be responsible for 80% of all bkits being sold in Luna.

I'm just saying look into it ... if even 1 of the claims of "i was banned but I was innocent" are true, what about this guy who reeks of exploitation. He's probably a duper, but if he's not a duper he's at least a MAJOR scripter. In either case, more people would participate in selling bkits if they didn't have to deal with their prices being depressed by 1/2 their value by massive exploiters.

The one on Napa sold 3 this morning.. Went back at noon and it was restocked back to 5. Just now checked and there are 0 left. Since I have been watching that vendor he has sold 18 barbed kits in the past 2 days.

In the past 5 minutes the vendor is restocked with 5.

At 8:15 pm cst he sold 2
8:45 pm cst he restocked 2 more= 20 barbed kits in 2days.
And for those who think thats all I have to do. Well that pretty much is. My modem is acting up and I lose connection every few minutes. This is about all I can do until it gets replaced.

Which is really the problem
many aspects of the game itself has been devalued and may people have been making a living off of cheating. People literally have been selling items with real world money from dupes or crafted items

Sure it stinks, but the 20 "real" bod guys on LS are terrible with their service. Let's just have runics drop randomly on monsters as part of the new expansion.

First of all, if that tailor is the one giving me runics when I hand in a BOD, why can't I just kill that tailor and take the runic? Cut out all that clicking, just one "all kill," loot tailor corpse and take runics.

Seriously, that cheater is providing a service and is really only annoying the 20 LS bod guys. "Real" bod guys, how many are there? 100 on all shards? 150? They stink. They get up early in the morning and do a BOD run and have fun doing it and it is varied gameplay and takes skill, shows how dedicated they are, awesome for UO, lots of lols (lolols?) but they stink at it. Worst providers of service. Expensive and not in quantity. The epitome of lousy when it comes to identical virtual items. It takes them too long to get the runics. Besides that, there are not enough funlovers out there to do bods.

Until UO team opens up a vendor in Luna and has a never ending supply of runics, this cheater is important for many people's gameplay and only hurts the - OK let's say - 250 "real" BOD guys.

What UO team needs to do is ban everyone that buys from this guy. That will solve a lot of problems. Great solution.

Look how long it takes this guy to restock his vendors.. notice the time in the bottom right corner. This is over 20 kits in 2 days. If you notice, there is 1 item in the pouch on the first picture and 5 items in the second. He never puts more than 5.

Valorite runics ... yay I'm glad EA deleted them and banned people. But in truth, selling valorite runics didn't conflict with hardly any real players selling ... because its practically impossible to get a valorite runic legitimately.

There are far more people that would like to participate in barbed runic sales as they are more obtainable. This guy has unlimited barbed runic kits for sale on all servers, he sells them for lower than any real player would care to go through the work to get and sell for, therefore he owns the entire market. Its like EA built this whole aspect of the game just for this guy to enjoy profiting from.

Please EA check him out, anyone with half a brain knows that 100s of barbed runic kits sold every day by 1 person is an exploit of some sort. Meanwhile he might just end up getting smart, varying his vendor names, varying his prices, making himself look like different players and it'll be much harder to deal with him.

I was keeping tabs on this guy before the valorite runic craze, I'm fairly sure this is the infamous barbed runic kit scripter that has been around for ages.

There is a possibility a dupe is involved with this one too though, the amounts seem to be larger than before.

If the items were easier to get with real play then he chances of mass exploiting to get the items would diminish.

But then you need to address the quality of items which are created from crafting as well. Since valorite runic hammers really don't create items any better then an agapite, then this would be another reason to dupe

QFT....that house sells duped items and illegal crap all the time. Not to mention that house was stolen because he hacked the accounts they were on.

I linked all those pictures for Jeremy to check into it. and this morning there were no barbed kits on the vendor and as of 5 minutes ago it was still empty.
The last time it was restocked. I stood there the whole time invis. And the vendor got restocked without anyone around, unless he was invis.

Hey that's My HOUSE on Napa !!!!!!!

You know I am pretty easy to get ahold of. Anytime you see a suspected scammer at one of my locations feel free to contact me. We could have ended this days ago if needed. As I have done with others in the past. I just happened across this thread.

I always investigate these issues.
