you want to make this about US politics? i am all for it.

the Obama proposal:
a small revert would be beneficial to the community. the small group of serious dupers are not part of the community anyway and won't stick around after the bugs are fixed. the weaklings who wouldn't normally dupe can simply be given a mark on their account, and then we can move on.

the McCain/Bush proposal:
ban everyone.

But no, they don't have to revert anything. They can just review the backups to see what was going on days ago.

And if the OP was saying revert to before the dupes.. well that would be a revert to 1997, and I don't think they still have those backups.
