Except banks have extremely detailed records and lots of employees to look into them. UO devs don't have the proper tools or records to do in-depth searches into such things nor the manpower to do them unless it takes months.

You are correct, but it is also because EA chooses not to put the resources into it.

So it's easy to say they don't have the bandwidth to deal with the problems.

Maybe if they didnt spend all the time on KR (before it was released) and spent that dev time on fixing bugs, we wouldnt be in this possition.

for the few who know Faraus Karzak who was on Chesapeake then on Atlantic, you prolly know that I wasnt a cheat.

2 days ago my only account been banned without notice. my new acquired Destard house was trown to the ground as a friend sent me screenshot.

I am not a rare collector... I fited all my stuff into a 7x7 with 586 max storage... nothing rare and old... i dont care for that stuff.. I been running luna vendors selling ilsenhar and peerless artefacts that i buy and resell like many of us. And I did it for years.

Did i bought something duped? The only thing I had in BULK was peerless ingredient.. and again I had about 3000 of em.. aint that much. All were bought from atlantic players. and a few were crosssharded from asian shards.

I never used any script as I am an extremist on anti cheat. I builded up close to 700m gold buyin and reselling in about 2 years... Is that why i been banned?? they couldnt beleive i made this gold checks legitely?? I never sold or bought any gold except the 2-3 times that I left UO and sold all my gold.

Yes I was playing this game to make money. to make virtual money, but I wasnt playing to sell my millions, I was pilling checks to buy a luna house!! I have no motive to cheat at all.

I always been extremely carefull to dont involve myself into activities that could get me banned since this was my ONLY ACCOUNT that I had pride to say I BUILDED MY FORTUNE BY MYSELF.

Why the hell they banned me? destroying my house without any warnings or reasons THAT I KNOW

I live in Quebec Canada, I was waiting on phone for about 50minutes calling representatives (I beleive it was Chad)... I payed the long distance bill and used my poor talked english 2 days ago to know WHY the H***!!?? I been banned...

honestly.. would a GUILTY sane person would really do THAT????

Im now waiting on their replies.. I filled the paperwork on their EA custumers website...

I can only hope that I will at least get my characters and my acces to UO back... as I know of course that I will never see my house, my vendors, my rare high end stuff back.

They erased around 200m in a few minutes... without considering they were maybe wrong.

Well... friends offered me to give me half of their stuff to me to start over.
I answered... Will they ban me again after 2 years of playin...? Do I know? nope... do I wanna risk it...? Do i wanna loose my time into this world...?

No... they lost my trust... whole EA lost my trust.

Let's look at this concept from a Hacker's perspective. Account contents for the average player aren't worth a lot right now. Artifacts, gold, and the such aren't worth very much. Thus if an account has something of value, you are the hacker, and you know how to dupe. Why not just take the item, dupe it, and return it? It does seem far fetched, but there have been a large number of hacked accounts lately, mainly all rares collectors.

Thus if an account has something of value, you are the hacker, and you know how to dupe. Why not just take the item, dupe it, and return it? Because you can take the item, keep it, and dupe it multiple times...

As I said earlier. If my friend was not innocent, I didn't know. He had items I wanted like rubble display pieces and blocks for which I still need. He could easily have duped them without my knowledge, and I would gladly have paid for them. However he didn't. He simply told me that he had only the one, and didn't want to sell. Wouldn't a duper just dupe it to sell it?

Also to consider that EA's UO Team is perfect, and never mistakes is completely idiotic. They are responsible for publishing errors that had bugs which gave greedy players an opportunity to exploit. How come they can't be in error when it comes to banning the wrong account?

Remember in 2006, Manticore was BANNED, then REINSTATED with an official apology posted on this forum. Mistakes happen.

I agree not everyone is innocent. However if you don't own an illegal item, if you didn't exploit any dupes, and if you didn't exploit a flaw in this game... aren't you consider innocent of any wrong doing according to this games own rules? If not, I want a clear understanding of what is an offense for being banned. Somehow I've managed to keep my accounts in good standing so far.

Okay the Hacker keeps this rare unique, dupes the crap out of it. The account owner who had the rare reports it stolen. How many players are going to buy this item without reporting on that person selling the duped item which was hacked from another player's account?

I don't remember you saying that they'll dupe UNIQUE items, only items. If it was a unique, then yes, this comeback would work, but for rare items, there is no way to tell that someone selling the rare actually stole it. No proof, only accusations from the original owner and maybe his/her friends.

Yes, I saw you say keep the rare unique in this post, but in your original post you didn't say anything about it being unique.

And even if it was a unique rare, how do you prove without a shadow of a doubt that it was stolen to GMs, not just a jealous guy wanting a rares owner to be banned?

I dont know Gwy as well as i know his wife she reported the same bug and lost her acc to, and one thing that is strange ....?????? If they where doing some thing messed up dont you think they would have ban all the accounts they have. dont take much to ban a isp

One more thing for you people that have a prob with people selling rares you dont know what any one is going to do with them so your only way of not leting them be duped is not to ever sell them. In that case y ever bother with them in the first place its just waisted gold if you can never make more then what you paid for it. IM also not going to pay for background checks on people before i deal with them i take them at thare word for the most part and dont deal with people i know to be messed up one way or another.

For you that pass judgment on others with out knowing may the same kindness be shown to you one day.

I don't think this theory holds much water. It is a good excuse for anyone who is banned though. "I swear it wasn't me! It is the hacker that shares my account." He took all the social engineering time to get my usetname and password and now he is logging in at odd times of the day (when I am not on) to take a few rares and then return them. This really seems like a lame way to try to get out of being banned by blaming some invisible hacker.

It doesn't even matter if it's true, because the only person to be blamed if one's account get's 'hacked' is the person owning the account. If someone is stupid enough to share their account info or doesn't practice safe computing and gets a keylogger installed they really have nobody but themself to blame.

Actually.. I think its more a matter of "players looked into him and found he was doin bad things, now the devs have done their own investigation and reached the same conclusion". One of the groups coming to that conclusion I could see as a simple mistake. But both? Even if they're all totally incompetent, that seems a bit more than just a coincidence.

This all coming from (OP) a player who SUPPORTS duping by buying mass quanity Item Bless Deeds he knows DAMN WELL were duped. Go away already.

I hope they ban every last damn duper and dupe supporter there is in game.
