The developers are idiots in my opinion. They add new features to the game and don't even consider the consequences.
For one GREATER DRAGONS.
First a developer should thing why should we have them?
- No new hard monsters have appeared... well none a normal tamer + others helping can't take on anyway. So no no reason for Greater Dragons
I disagree.
On the PVM side: champ spawn bosses were just beefed up. Tamers had practically no place in Fel champ spawns before, the best tank around was a Cu Sidhe and the mana to keep such a beast alive against those monsters wasn't worth having the pet there (not considering barracoon here, against which you can vet heal non-superdragon pets if you can get barracoon boxed in).
On the PVP side:
If tamers are intended to be a class that participates in everything that other classes can, with the same degree of power, safety, and ability, a pet like the Greater Dragon (complete with its vicious breath attack) was necessary.
Can a tamer kill you with a superdragon if you don't treat the situation with the respect it deserves? Yep. Can a necromage do the same to someone? yep. How about a DP dexer?
I don't have a problem with that breath attack in PVP that some people keep complaining about. All it means is that you, as someone who wants to kill a tamer, cannot run up thinking that you are Mr. Rambo the Necro Mage or, Ms. Supergirl the Archer, and think that you can stand next to a tamer with their dragon and just kill them without care.
If you think you can make a serious effort to kill a tamer, standing there long enough to almost succeed and then run your ass off to save your own life (considering pets do not run at mounted speed) and expect it to work every single time, the chance of that breath attack coming at the wrong time is what makes that situation dangerous for you.
The breath attack works into things just fine, and I think the implementation as it is right now is nice. I say that from the perspective of having a tamer + other PVP chars with which I have to try and kill tamers (and sometimes succeed).
I wanna tameable rend (hehe! half joking here, half not). Or, it would sure be neat if they re-implemented the reptilion so that it properly rivaled the cu sidhe. Reptilons flap their wings and stuff, and thus look interesting. We would need Pads of the Reptilon or something so that elf tamers can ride one (we tamers are mostly elves since Cu Sidhes have been the hot item and not reptilons).
