100 bkits for sale on vendor

Atlantic, 100 barbed runic kits for sale on 1 vendor. The image shows 118 items on vendor and those 120 scrolls are not stacked on top of each other.

Houses got burned down over selling too many ingots, but at no time was over 200 million gold worth of ingots for sale on one vendor, yet this vendor seems to have over 100 kits for sale most of the time.

Guess thats all I'll say, not sure what else I could say that wouldn't end up rendering this post as a rant.

By the way I was going to round it off with the valorite runic vendors that have over 10 but all I could find was one with 9 and another with 7.

Doesn't sound quite so impressive as 100 bkits, though I can't fathom the amount of legitimate playtime that'd be required to get around 9 non-exploited valorite runic kits. They're being sold for only 17 mil too. Thats nothing nowadays, thats what you get for spending a half hour running newbie chars through the 25k spring cleaning quest.

This will take two months to happen and in that time the dupers will sell there wares pocket the gold and put all the rest of there duped items and gold on a dummy account and hold onto it for what, 6 months or so? Same song and dance. If they handled these kids with extreme prejudice then we wouldnt have anything to talk about...but no, they let the bs run amuck and have stupid ass town hall meetings about new plants and coca trees...

Enlighten me a little bit, was this "fire" comment from Jeremy about the houses that were put on fire a while ago, or is it about what they are going to do soon? In context, was she talking about scripters, or dupers, or both? About only obvious violators or this "fire" supposed to be for all dupe sellers, their supply chains all the way back to the source of the dupes? I'm sure she didn't give a whole lot of specifics about it but I'm just wondering what context she said it in.

Just to let everyone know the volume of bkits this vendor sells, I posted this thread about 3 hours ago and in that time the vendor has sold nearly 60 bkits.

Its not only that it has 100 bkits, but that it sells that many every day.

You know, this gets me thinking.

The smartest thing that Mythic could possibly do is to be the dupers themselves. The market is already saturated with runic rewards from scripters and past dupes, and they have plans for a crafting overhaul in SA.

So the obvious plan to curb inflation would be to set up all of these vendors we keep seeing with so many runics on them. They stick them in vendor malls that they plan on destroying anyway because they've discovered they're linked to dupers or scripters, and they fill and refill their vendors with runics made directly by a GM or dev team member. They keep selling for X amount of time, then turn around and apply their "fire," thus destroying the duper/scripter mall as well as their own dupe vendors and all of the gold they've collected. This takes tens of billions, if not hundreds of billions of gold out of the economy under the radar.

It would be a brilliant plan that they would never be allowed to confirm nor deny.

On that note, we went from just a few Val hammers on Pacific to 11 now, all on the same vendor.

Funny thing is that the Val hammers are cheaper than the 2 Verite ones that are on a different vendor.

So this is what merchanting comes to for the last 2 weeks. I go and kill Melissa with 2000 luck and hope for some nice jewels.

I go and buy 25k tickets for 700k from some guy and sell them for 900k

Thats about all thats moving minus some luck armor.

I actually noticed the 5 million turn in yesterday but it didnt register. I just realized the jump when you wrote about it.

By the way, the vendor restocked at least 60 barbed runic kits and now has 107 barbed kits again. It easily sells 100 bkits a day. If EA intends to do something about it and mentioned fire more than once in the town meeting, I don't get what they're waiting for.

Did those of you talking about the "Abuse" of 25k point tickets ever wonder...
if maybe it wasn't a way to devalue those duped runics?

Think about it. The majority of characters are mages or some variant of the mage. Most don't cast direct offensive spells other than chaining fireball at a peerless, so high MR doesn't matter much.
All 70s and 100% LRC is plenty for most characters, and having a way of getting it without buying runic-made gear is a serious .. "kick in the nuts" to those who sell it.

Crafters take yet another hit, but there are so few left who aren't just BOD mules... it may all be worth it.

Personally I can't wait to see those dupe-vendors with 100 barb kits they can't unload at 250k each because only PvPers and Sampires need better gear than most already have from cleanup points. And with sampires getting the nerf soon. . . . .

I cant help but to comment on this subject.
I returned to UO after 5 or so years. My old account couldnt be reactivated depite having all the info they required of me. In my absence a few things changed . It became clear to me that unlesss I played this game EVERY DAY FOR 12 HOURS I could not get some of the items I needed for crafting anything worth while.
I havent seen anyone at the shops trading all those BODS to get that many top runics. There is no possible way anyone with a real life can get as many as that vendor you say has on it. The devs know it but the account is paying so who cares. There are vendors with unbelievable horned armor that 10 barbed kits will not make.( I know. Ive tried). (yes I have all the skills and tallys)
Clearly these are items created by duped kits as well. I mean, all a GM has to do is look ... oh yeah there arent any GMs. As a birthday gift my wife (she uses one of my char slots) purchased some stuff from a guy online. I know its not something I agree with but wtf. Even with that I am still not happy with the results. Im sure glad I didnt get into crafting for the gold. The market is flooded with dupes. Lets be real. The players of the game are dwindling. Theyll let them get away with it as long as they get the 10 bucks a month. Me? Im gunna take all this crappy equipment I wasted my time making, try to make a decent suit , kill some monsters and get enough gold to buy some of that duped stuff. Maybe Ill get to 120 skill on 6 skills. Oh yeah my account isnt 10 years old. Sorry Im a little bitter about that .

Got to love that a house burns in the distance. Be nice when that house burns as well. The developers seem to know this dupe is going on, and they will be taking action.

I was slow to accept that the dupe was happening. In reality, I don't think that barbed kits should be worth more than 500k and I don't think that valorite runics should be worth more than 5 mil. They need to rework the BOD system to make both of those a reality. This game is not item friendly, but it is item based, and the that can cause a lot of frustration.

What are they going to do with the gold? I mean, seriously, there is only so many things you can buy in game. Sell it, you say? One can sell WoW gold for about 200-300x more than you can sell UO gold for and you don't even need to dupe to EASILY make WoW gold. If they are trying to make real life money from the game then with the way UO rl prices have gone down hill they have their work cut out for them.

The legitimate players get a look at the BOD system and cheaper runic hammers. Lets be honest, the current BOD system is dominated by scripters anyways, so taking a little gold away from the scripters isn't going to destroy the game. Also, because they will eventually be caught, the dupers tend to unload these items fast, and that means that some players can get decent items for next to nothing, and that is not a bad thing.

I hope when the time comes to end this thing they do it right. I dont think having it morph into the next version and carry over all the players to " UO updated " should go on any longer. Just KILL IT. And start with a new game with eveyone at zero again please. Just give me housing without first person veiw. Bring back Pkers like they were in the begining. That was some of the most exciting gameplay times Ive had with freinds. Screw this insurance thing and make what your holding on your doll res with you. What was in your bag should be gone. THAT is what made it exciting for all my old freinds. Calling each other after a few hours (we had to hang up the old landlines) and see who made it back from a nights adventure with anything good. The player who buys a duped item shouldn't be banned. Banning someone who simply bought an item they needed wouldn't solve anything. Now banning the person who provided the said item might.

The one nearest to the road had a renovating sign with a notice for players to remove their vendors, so I believe that one is. The other one I'm not entirely sure about.

I have all the Atlantic dupe vendors updated on a map, lots are still left, most with high end items on them still.
