what do you listen to?

So when playing UO I was just wondering what do you listen to? I myself turn off the in game music and tend to pick a random CD and just let it play. (lately it seems to be Machinehead - "The Blackening" more then anything else)

Generally I don't listen to anything while I play, I even have the music in game turned off, so I can hear when the girls are screaming..."Mom where's this?" "Mom she won't stop touching me" Well okay I guess that qualifies as listen to something. When the girls go back to school. it'll be either WRR or my favorite local radio station.

I have always had the game music shut off. I never cared for it. But, generally I have the TV on in the background. Maybe it's my ADD but I have a hard time concentrating on just one thing at a time. Back when I worked 2nd shift, I used to get up at 6 and play uo while listening to the Bob and Tom show.

I listen to the game sounds themselves. I've never had the music on, and actually turning music off is one of the first things I do in any game. There are a lot of things in game that you have to hear the sounds of to know when/if it's time to do something else, or if you've failed at doing what you just tried to.

As my music tastes are fairly eclectic, it could be almost anything...

If I'm in an area where I can't get the music to shut off, I just listen to it (I like the in-game music too much to turn it completely - plus, every time I HAVE turned off the music, I end up dying a LOT, because I don't have any audio cue as to which mode I'm in, and either end up attacking my pets, or not defending myself)

In areas where the game isn't providing music (or I've used a music box to turn it off), I've been known to listen to the following...

A movie is always playing on one of my comps(last one was Insanitarium, good stuff), a really large list of MP3s from 80's to EBM and Industrial on another, and there's always the VOIP software running.

And my girlfriend sitting next to me, discussing many interesting things, UO related or not.

I like to keep myself very busy most of the times..

Did I mention some single-player game(currently Crysis.. AGAIN.. On "Hard") with the Menu Screen up, as I don't pay much attention, on that other comp at the corner?

The mix that creates generally works well for me musically... it's not too hard, but has given some surprising results.

For me sounds in games are an important part of the game (you can often hear danger before you can see it, and you can do things like tell what spells have been cast on your pet, etc.), so I generally don't listen to anything that would distract me from hearing what is going on. I also have adhd, but for me that means that if there is more than one thing going on near me, be it music or t.v. etc., it is really hard for me to accomplish anything.

Right ON!! I had Animals in, on repeat, during the first night of Moonglow. The night the rift opened to an alternate Glow. It must have went at least 5-6 time through. There is just something about Dogs that zones me in on killing things in UO.

In general though, I listen to classic rock, the local "whatever station" (you know the ones that say "we play everything", but oftentimes "everything includes the crappy stuff too), or a random sporting event that I want to half pay attention to.

It varies for me. A lot of the time if I'm playing UO I'm on Ventrillo so I don't have any loud music on at all. Sometimes I listen to my own recordings (guitar), sometimes I pick something random from my huge collection of MP3's. My tastes vary from classical to blues to rock to jazz and everything in between.
