Understanding the Use of Pack Beetles!

I'm still baffled and have yet to understand how much weight a pack beetle can carry. I put 900 stones on the beetle and myself weighing 80 stones for a grand total of 980 stones yet the beetle take 4 steps with me riding on it's back and it's fatigued.

I was under the impression it could carry a total of 1600 stones. What am I not understanding?

It's a long-standing bug that it gets fatigued when it has over 500 stones in it. It can still carry 1600, it just means that you are limited to walking speed at cargo levels over 500.

In other words you can walk only , not run when your over 500 stones.

I've never seen this as a bug, just a tad bit of reality in with fantasy. I'd never expect any animal, besides something like a dragon, to not get tired when carrying over 500 stones.

You can run with it as long as your not mounted at full weight and you can also be at full weight.
