I for one like having shard specific areas and items from the past events on display. It makes each shard unique.

If they do remove all the areas and items, I have a request. Could we please get this one lantern moved to the Community Center in Skara on Napa? It was the last one put out by Theowulf. Plus it was a nice player run event.

It's history, why in the world would we remove them? It would be like deconstructing the pyramids because they take up too much space.

I voted yes because on LA we have a nasty undead spawn right outside north Luna gate wich has caused all the metal gates of luna to be closed and black moongates to be put up. The undead spawn has also been very bad to the people who live north of Luna and is just unpleasent now. I already sent an email to Jeremy and if nothing gets done about it I will say Ive completely lost faith in the Dev team (Im already like 95% there). So we will see!!!!

EM cleanup is a good idea however each shard needs to have a list and some one go with the cleaner and explain things... IE Please remove the invisable block around that statue but leave the golden Shrine alone.... Or fix Areas that have been altered to do the events but where once EM related Areas. I Know moonglow is popular on shards for this...

Do the EM Clean up But do it Very Selectivily IMO....

I voted "No"... but that doesn't half speak my actual opinion.

Almost all of the EM event stuff should stay in some aspect - it's history.
Some of the EM event stuff should be modified - it's impacting normal gameplay. When possible, there should be something left behind that acts as evidence of whatever event happened there.

Just to clarify, when I talk about "cleanup" I very seldom mean removing the historical bits, just changing the bits that affect gameplay. The question that came up at the Town Hall was about some areas that players are currently prevented from using - we want to look into opening up those areas since they're not being used by EMs anymore.

The other thing that tends to come up - although I think we've gotten most of them - are stray event spawns that make areas inaccessible or difficult out of proportion to the rest of that region. Those can impact gameplay negatively, so we generally turn them off.

I agree , I just want those pesky undead gone from North Luna and the gates of Luna to be open again (like all the other shards).

The undead here spawns 2 screens to the east out the north gate , making it VERY unpleasent for those who own houses in the area (back in the day one had some nice vendors). Also notice the metal gate is down to keep the spawn out of Luna itself.

Thank you for the clarification. I would hate to see all the history get wiped from the shards.

There should be more EM areas and items, not less, it adds character to the landscape, and enriches the history of the game.

Change/add the items in the poll to items only. There are some areas that should not be removed but there is items from EM events like books, crystals laying around. I did not vote.

On Sonoma we have the EM Little house on Serpent's Hold and the Mage tower on Moonglow [Trammel], neither of these should be removed. We also have boats that were instant teleporters in couple locations and today are still used to get to locations when there is heavy spawning. In Skara CC we have a cage beast and a special magery armor that allows non magers to get to Serpent's Hold, where a matching set of armor gets you back. We also have the Star Trek Guards on SH in and around the war room, all of these should never be removed as they are a part of the history we have. Also there the training Camp in Malas, do not remove.

So if you after those power crystals or ???? books that are scatter around Sonoma, go for it, but please leave all those areas that became a part of our history alone.

i would be happy if they had that spawn in luna all the time or even better get rid of luna altogether, it would bring back better small time vendor houses instead of the overpriced junk that sells in luna. i would love to see the main hot spot for buying and selling things back at WBB like it was when i started. sure it was laggy going to WBB but not as bad as it is in luna and people was more spread out at WBB.

Azazel, I personally LIKE that spawn - makes it easier to reach Knight of Honor.

But, I agree that it could have been in a better place, and Luna needs opened up.

If they made the Ancient Lich spawn be active (again) around the EM "evil side" house on the island where the Labyrinth is, I'd be okay for getting rid of the spawn outside Luna. Currently, I think only rotters spawn there, though the AL & Skeles spawned there before the assault on Luna.

And, if those areas are "opened up for housing" in Malas, how will that affect our Fairgrounds, in that area (that really never got a chance to be used).

I don't believe they should be removed. Every EM/Seer built location/item has its own history and story behind it. It gives everyone the oppertunity to look into the games past and see things that have been forgotten. It also gives people a chance to learn about that particular shards history.

yeah Phar I fell for it. I remember thy post ya did about it too on stratics many moons ago....

Niow back to topic. Heck Luna libary is still buring. There is one or two buring buildings in Brit. Thy underground area by Yew on napa is still over run with zombies and spiders I believe. The third part of that dungeon is still NOT opened.

So in all honesty I did vote yes..its time for a clean up. On thy other hand, the only time a clean up will be done is when thy EA games finally turns off all the UO severs once and for all.

So I really think you don't have anything to worry about.

There are somethings that should stay, but any EM items with mods that shouldn't have them (robes/sashes) should be all removed from the game.

Yew being surrounded by walls is just stupid.

The EM program was one of the worse things ever done.

Items should be left, specific builds should be left, The bloody freaking spawn in various areas need to go bye bye..ie on Baja in the tunnel going into Deciet on Dagger Isle needs to loose the frosty spawn. Sam or Vincent I don't remember which left that there from I think A Christmas event.

Some players might think something is in their way or affecting their gameplay which others/most think is perfectly fine though...

You know there actually were other players who didn't get anything, right?

Though I agree the walls around Yew are stupid. It made for an interesting event but the idea was just absurd. Especially since they were wooden walls erected to keep out dragons...

Question, is the event spawn of savages in the town of Papua, Felucca facet, Oceania, intended to be just left running there or was it intended to be cleaned up?

If it's intended to be cleaned up, I'd like to see it cleaned up, whether players or EA/Mythic have to do it is an unknown at this point. We did the Invasion stuff on the Trammel side but I don't remember whether the Felucca side was supposed to be cleaned up or is part of a different scenario to the Trammel side.

Since we lost a lot of the shard-specific forum data, a lot of history has also fallen into the 'unknown', if players know something that fills in gaps, please post it into the appropriate forums.
