Me !

I love growing plants.

+ who can say no to chocolate?

To bad growing plants irl isn't as easy in UO.

i'm such a good gardener in UO...but i suck irl.

I seem to be killing a lot of my plants lately...including my rare irl potted trees. And i have no clue what is killing them.
They have no indicators !

i'm a chocoholic irl.

So in-game chocolate is a must.

I'm just wondering WHEN these seeds will be in-game.
I want to see an actual date...so i don't get too excited when it's actualy going to take months before they're in-game.

Granted WE all were stoked by the trees fomr Tokono, they lasted all a month then were tossed as if they dont exist.

The coc trees depending on how versitle the system is, will as a prediction last 3 months tops until every thing is found out about them if cross polonation is possiable, ect..

I am giveing it a prediction of 3 months before folks over look them and move on to other things

I grow orange petals all the time, I may as well grow trees.

Now can I grind the cocoa into a white powder that can be applied to a char for +10 agility? LOL

Remember how Jeremy said that chopping off heads for bounty was removed because parents went ballistic? Methinks this would be even worse. :D More flames than Draconi in a fireworks store...

personally cross pollination would be nice but being able to get seeds off the plant would be nicer if you have to hunt them down each time the plant matures it may get a little old over time having to hunt them again and again but then again it would give my vendor something to sell if they didn't drop seeds off the plant

wonder if we will have the chance to get white or black cocoa trees :p

I can't even find the time to grow plants for orange petals even though I already have the seeds and the potions, much less chocolate trees that I have zero use for.

IMO it is just another seed ok great it grows cocoa and cooks and make more stuff but i doubt it will ever grow a bag of sugar. it will prob grow some stuff but you will still have to buy sugar from me for 500 a bag lol

chocolate should make your character moan.
and increase...your stamina.

overdose of chocolate should give you a sugar rush..wich paralyzes you for 10-15sec.

the fact is: unless chocolate actually -does- something people will tire of it fairly quickly in favor of the plants that actually give benefits to players, ie. orange petals.

what could a piece of chocolate do that would warrant cultivating it? at a minimum whatever it does do must last at least 5 minutes for it to be worthwhile. the grapes of wrath are cute but last some 20-odd seconds for a meager 10% damage increase (non-stackable and must wait 2 min in between uses); the fruit bowl takes a fair amount of preparation (not to mention having to find a wooden bowl), and in return we get 2 minutes of 5% to stats. it's a wonder they aren't flying off vendors [sarcasm].

perhaps chocolate would be the magic bullet to get people into cooking again. but as is, it is merely a small (very small!) object that when eaten produces nothing but the unsatisfying feeling of knowing you wasted a sack of sugar, cocoa butter, and cocoa liquor on such a frivolous, useless thing--and these are ingredients that come from paragons!

no, the only way it could be worthwhile is if the chocolate gave a 5 minute bonus to, say, -ponders- resisting spells. how about +30? unstackable of course.

Voted no, who really cares about cocoa, tree's I would rather have them start fixing **** than implement some new useless eye candy that doesn't even look that good.

Some of us only grow that useless eye candy. I'm less interested in the cocoa trees(they constant delays and lack of answers regarding it pretty much killed my enthusiasm) and more interested in the new seeds. Though I'll be amazed if they show up at all.

Who's planning to grow cocoa trees? :D
Maybe poll will rally, but this definitely doesn't appear to be good allocation of resources. Maybe with these seeds there will be a resurgence in tending to virtual plants in UO leading to massive amounts of new and returning subs to get a crack at these beans.

All depends on what they are going to do with chocolate. As it is right now there is no point that i see. Chocolate isn't pretty, doesn't stack, and has no use that I know of. I've been collecting ingredients waiting for a use for them.

My chef will love new ingredients if they arrive and my alchemist loves gardening so that's cool. I'll be interested to see how they look as decor too so I can slot them into my garden :)

I won't because I don't do plants, but I'm glad they have their priorities straight. It's far more important to create new plant types and pixel crack than stopping dupes, speedhacks, and scripting.

Yes, I'm all for fixing cheats, but as I just posted elsewhere, one of the best things about UO is that it caters to all kinds of people and playstyles, and while you may not "do plants" there are plenty that do, and their playstyle and priorities are every bit as valid and important as yours are...

I know. I was just being facetious; I don't begrudge anyone their favorite RP pastime regardless of what it is. My point though is that they cite limited resources when they talk about why KR isn't finished, why certain bugs are not fixed, etc.

What I'd LIKE to see is Mythic actually put more than lip service into development of the first and best MMO ever.

Which reminds me to ask... How does one acquire Bright Orange Seeds, how do you take care of them and what do you need to do in order to get the petals? I've never been into growing plants to harvest what I need so if anyone is kind enough to walk me through with some details and tips?

Also a quick side question regarding this, will each of the plants also provide seeds to make a new Bright Orange plant for petals?

You start with 1st generation dull seeds
Grow them
Cross pollinate get second generation seeds
Repeat and the brit orange poison petals are third generation I think.

Any way there is a pollination index that shows what seeds to cross.

It easy but beyone an answer here.
Hopefully someone can show you the link.

Its not worth gardening. The gardners charge fair prices for the end product. To low in my opinion for the work.
