FINALLY, after more than enough time grinding savages, Exodus overseers and Heartwood quests, I've worked from 220k points to 600k points for my second armor set (chose Scout's armor, looks better and fits my playstyle better, got Knight's when it came out, so I have the Virtue, Knight, and scout sets).

I am DONE with grinding for turn in loot (at least for now until the next event with special loot used for something nifty comes along).

I can do some secondary cleanup of the houses and go back to another time-wasting grind-fest... Smithing BODs!:coco::D Well, that and continuing Mod work for KR.

(I guess it's all well and good to be done, as I will be in Baltimore for a convention all next week... our biggest convention/show of the year)

It was more of a fun post than an annoyed one. I just wanted to get in the turn ins before I flew up to Baltimore tomorrow.

Maybe if I get back and feel the desire I'll start again for some extra smaller stuff depending on how long we have left in the event... who knows.

2d is too small for playability for me. Game window size to backpack size to available options... it's just too small.

Why would I want to go backwards?

play 2D on 1680 X 1050 and you have a great play space.

Except for the eye strain developed from looking at a postcard sized game window and a postage stamp sized backpack.

Play KR on a 1680x1050 resolution and have just as much space with more options for the game window size (plus zoom).

Anything over 1024x768 puts WAAY too much black space comapred to game window for my tastes.

It's me having some fun. What... I'm not allowed? How far this board has fallen.

And the game window above is simply too small, icons for me are nice and neat in hotbars and not limited to spells, my minimap, for my purposes does the job (sextant coords under the map, input via context menu), Tithing points under the status bar, icons for stats INCLUDING item mods, the list goes on.



But the key thing... I can SEE everything without squinting or using a magnifying glass (which I do enough of at my real job).

I think that the armor is a joke. all three 'reward' armor sets are not remotely worth the trouble. You grinded away part of your life you will never get back, for a set of armor which can be smashed by a suit made of cheap easy to get items.

Although maybe they will improve them like they did with Knights Armor.

Surely these sets should be useful like say a Darkwood set?

To the thread, I apologize for the side scrolling. I hate it myself but I had to show Dermott that 2D is so much superior to KR. It is not postage stamp size when playing.

maybe you just need a bigger monitor ? 14 inch monitors are ancient :p

Heh the smallest monitor I have is a 15 inch that I hook up to the 17 in widescreen laptop for the increasingly rare times that I actually have a need to log into 2d.

Desktop monitors are 22in widescreen (game monitor) and 19in normal (Samsung on the 22in, Sony on the 19in both LCD).

14in monitors are about the biggest monitor 2d looks good on anyway :p

Congrats on the 2 suits. I'll only have enough for one suit and all the other small things I want. I still need to decide between the Scout and Knight. I'll probably get the Knight. Which helm did you get for the Scout? i'm not a big fan of the bowl(jingasa or whatever).

What's with all the KR haters. Dermott is not a 2D hater, so why hate on him for promoting and encouraging KR? I have both clients current on my PC. Both have their advantages. However, on my 22' LCD, I have to lean close to the screen to read item property lists on items and i don't seem to have the same problem with KR.

To the person that posted the screenshot of how they play the game... The fact that that is what works best for how you play the game, that is not the only way to play the game. The problem is that 2D forces the window to be that size. KR can be enlarged and shrunken on the fly. I prefer to play with the playing area as big as possible, yes, I may need glasses. I don't, in any way, mean to demean how you prefer to play the game. It would, however, be nice if you weren't so critical about how others play the game. That's all.

I like to run dual monitors. I run UO(KR mostly) on the big 22" widescreen and have IM and Excel and most other programs on the old 17" tube monitor to the right.

Why do people always have to pull the "your client sux THIS is how to play" crap?
Yall sound like a bunch of missionaries forcing your religion upon the masses who don't need to hear it.

People who prefer KR will play KR, even if you don't.
Likewise the other way around with Legacy client.

Get over it!
