Im tired of the shards.
Atlantic Ill keep.
Other 2 will be gone.
1 deactivated.
1 will go to siege.

Is there housing available on siege?

If there really isnt anyone, have a place that dont want?

What is the population like? No not are you nice? Is it barren besides hot spots?

What is the best way to make money on a start up vendor?

Im looking for a basic home, basic vendors, and a foothold?

Any vendor shop owners renting or have spots for free?

Plenty. If you are patient some really good spots open up now and then.

You will be able to place an 18x18 with relative ease, or a tower.

Yes and no. There is plenty of room to do as you wish.

What is the best way to make money on a start up vendor?

In the begining, resource gathering is your best bet. Vets will buy all of the cloth, iron, wood, feathers etc that you can come up with.

To answer a few questions...

Population as of late has been growing tremendously, lots of new folk around.

Lots of housing available

I have a luna house vendor shop if your enterested...as well as there are many other luna vendor houses, and resources are a very good way to get started...

Find me in game, Names Astynax/Tek...i'll hook ya up with a suit, items, jewls, some cash and whatnot...

What is the best way to make money on a start up vendor? Vendors cost 3x other shards. Resources - cloth, leather, ingots, bone. Siege has a drinking problem so potions are hot.

Join NEW. Read about Siege - some of the rules are different - gain system, no recall, all is fel rules, prices are tripple, can't buy skill, no transfer to or from, one character per account (might rethink closing an account).

Think I'll make a Thief/Crafter hybrid so I can run around looting and stealing, but then craft new items for my victims .

you can't buy skills
you can't sell to npcs
npc prices are much higher
There are dark wisps in the woods - no one tells you about those, they come as a nasty shock when you think the worst thing you're going to meet is an ettin or troll.

Arrr, look me up in game. I can help you start up. If you do plan on playing a crafter, you may want to work on lumber and mining first as well as your magery so you can kill some critters for their leather. Resource gatherers are making a mint these days...lol, 30 gp/iron ore...la

Ill be starting from scratch. I have a siege charcture on my atlantic account but I have housing on the account. So Ill be looking over the advice and checking out the lands this week. Probably make a mage miner for resources.

I like the merchanting.

Whats in more demand? Maybe that is something I should now.

- If its not too obnoxious...
Not at all, you may die sometimes, special around Luna and hotspot but you won't find the hate between red and blue you know from Felucca.
a few advice if you die:
Show your ghost, wait to see if the killer will rez you or tells you to find a healer.
Stay away from your corpes to your killer is done unless you want to die again.
Don't complain about dying and you get longer being polite than rude to your killer and it may save you from some looting.

I had seen 2 new keeps been placed the last 2-3 weeks and it's easy to find a 18x18 spot.

A keep cost 5 mills to buy, a castle around 25 mills. A vendor house in a good spot may cost a few mills too.

It is low but it seem to start growing again, from both new SP players and old SP players coming back.

Go to Yew sheep pens and get wool, make bolt of clothes and sell them for 300 gold to players. If you have no vendor yet, make a post on SP Forum.
Wood, ingots and leather sells too.

Start with joining Newborn on Siege, NEW, that will give you a base, a place to call home. NEW will help with advices, basis items and help you learn to know the community.

I will think some already had offered you a vendor spot.

I would advice you to wait with transfering gold from your old shard. Many had forgotten the joy from making it on your own.

Now that's the blue wisps, but we do have Black Wisps, they don't care if you are in factions or not, they will attack.
They enjoy ganking newbies and guard their corpes.

Black Wisps kill and rez kill more newbies than PK's do, at least when I don't count Krystal and WyRm

LOL, S|S does have a faction stone, but i keep the main thief guild out of factions since most of us thieves have problems when we are orange to others, lol...la

They do, but you may be better off buying them from uo.com, unless your account has vet rewards you haven't used. Just beware, there are certain items you are accustomed to being newbied that aren't here. Also, all your tools will wear. Your daggers and scissors have uses as do weapons...don't use a good sword to skin your kills as you will find they break after you use up all of their uses.

Think hard about your template before starting it. Magery is tough to get to 50 if you don't have a lrc suit...and once you hit 60, you can start gating around the shard with scrolls. Don't waste your newbie free skills...la

You can't transfer your char to Siege, you will have to use the old way to trade gold/item on your old shard for gold/items in Siege.
We do have soulstones, but when you only can have one char on an account, you will need at least 2 stones.

Good choice. Oh, and you can join the thief guild as soon as you log in for the first time...there are no prereqs like the production shard. I've known reds who use the disguise kit for fun, lol...la

Leather, and iron now that smithing BODs are back in vogue.

And do look up Shalimar's NEW guild. It is something unique to Siege and you can join up for about a month. You will get basic equipment, advice, a guildhouse to train in, and if you have not decided on a permanent guild by the time you leave they will help place you in one.
