okay here's the wonderful world of pointlessness. now people are making umpteen trial accounts and running young characters straight through the final trial getting 25k without even trying. get a bunch of tickets, hand them off, make another account. Makes killing vanguards all day a waste of time as in 10 hours these hacks can pull a full suit of armor without any trouble.

On top of that everyone wants to sell points and items from the turn in for insane amounts of gold making it impossible to buy what I want.

So I say good let these guys run with it and destroy the market. In fact I don't know why I haven't done this myself to get what I want. Oh yeah that's right I am just to lazy lol.

you dont need any cc or gametime to open a trial acct
you simply need to call and have them activate the acct manually from their side by reapplying the code from their pcs.

i did it last night, took 5 mins

Only 25k for all the mess of trial accounts?
Why go for 25k when you can make a miner/lumberjack bot and get a lot more?
In games where botting is present, trial accounts are mainly used for that.

whenever something new comes along, there is ALWAYS someone who gets an angle on it and abuses it

my question is this

EA, why don't you employ these peeps, as they chearly are very clever, and if THEY are the devs then THEY know how to stop the events being killed off????

i think it was more about how these people are cheating everyone else by opening ton's of trial accounts then running the characters thru the quest to farm points. sounds like he doesn't want to stoop that low to be like the neighbors and cheat to get points.

but it is VERY annoying to see youngs running thru those rooms getting points and switching to another character, unharmed , while most vet's die near instantly the first room .

Well I think the point of Spring Cleaning was to clean out Junk. Then once most was cleaned EA figured well alot of people wont be able to get things so they added 50k points on the events.

Hey the whole point was to clean out junk not make elite items that only certain people can have.

Really who cares if they are making new accounts? Spring Cleaning wasnt ment for you to make gold to sell for RL $$ of to make gold at all. I think people forget that they dont do events so you can make profit.

i think that if ea desired to get peoples attention and also deal with probs caused by the young player exploit they should create a shard pre ML meaning you dont get access to everything just like the people who never payed for the expansion also make it a no transfer shard ie no transfer in or out like siege, make it free for all to play with no housing if people want to be able to play with houses and extra content then they should have to pay this would limit allot of UO's probs this would in fact prevent allot of probs and at the same time give UO some much needed publicity and advertising

I've seen a lotta young chars as well, but I've even seen the SAME ones coming through more than once. Are they able to run the quest multiple times? THAT would be a serious problem as far as I'm concerned.

As for the quest as a whole... I'm glad we finally have an event where you can get some kind of reward without having an UberChar. The thought of my GM miner running through the Ethereal Fortress to get a ticket puts a smile on my face. He's been stuck in the mines too long and deserves a vacation!

One tip... make a single macro with all the passwords. That has worked well for me so far.

Yes... Because the only use for scripting is in cheating at UO.

I think you may have answered your own question. They're probably naming all the characters on the newbie account the same thing, so they don't have to re-make or copy over the macro and desktop files.

Can you drop items on the ground in WoW? When I tried WoW a long time ago, I don't think you could. In UO you can drop the tickets off in your house(or a secluded location), and pick them up with another char.

This kind of faucet doesn't really bother me. I don't have any personal interest in the value of the items/points. I'll get what I can afford and live with that, and hopefully be happy with it.

Not to mention that nobody get's 'hacked'. They either download malware like keyloggers, have poor password security that fails a simple dictionary attack (and that is HARDLY 'hacking'), or they share their password with someone they shouldn't.

The thing about these people that amazes me the most is how clever they are. I would have never thought to do that.

People always say that sort of thing to victims of crimes; mostly, it's to convince themselves that they'd never become a victim. I hope that when you are mugged, or your house is burgled, or you're in a car accident, etc., that people are more sympathetic to you than you've been to Doomsday Dragon.

Youngs can not go into area's designated as a dungeon without being freely attacked. When they made the rift in Moonglow, they also made it have a, "Dungeon" code, so youngs could not take advanatge of it. This is all they had to do with the area when the reward tickets were given out. Code it as a Dungeon for young accounts and it is fixed.

Indeed, just go to www.ultima-registration.com, follow the links, they give it to you while you are in setup if you dont already have an account code from the numerous versions of the game im sure everyone has stashed away somewhere that include a free 30 day trial.

Ya id have to agree here, does seem like a pain in the ass to get enough points for a suit, and the value of tickets is dropping daily, theyll be 10 gold per point before the end of the weekend on LS Im sure, hell they were already selling for less then 30 each at auction a week ago, I feel bad for the folks that bought the jewelry combo for 20 mil about a month ago.
