It's been a few years since we had an expansion , UOSA announced 1 year ago , the last true State of UO was done over a year ago or longer and continue to get teased with great things coming for UO. The other big problem is that ever since UO went into the Mythic it seems as though we sunk lower on the ladder ( Anyone else notice this? ) , now maybe I have missed something but shouldnt we as p(L)aying fans atleast be treated better , day after day we see issues with Customer Service , Hacking , Cheating, Etc. , but it seems like nothing is getting done.

On the flipside the Live team has put together a great storyline , but how long will that last..

Is it that much to ask for a :

1. State of UO type announcement?
2. Next Expansion info?
3. Customer service to reflect industry standards
4. A true and honest game ( Alot less cheating)

Yeah, we need to hear something that doesn't contain the words "soon" or "sometime in the future".

I'm not concerned about the next expansion particularly if it pushed KR.

Items 3 and 4 are very important.

Not sure on #1, a state of uo message would probably not be informative.

I certainly would like to see more posts by the uo team if they aren't too busy with other projects.

It's too late/early to attempt to predict what 1) would look like, but:

2. Next Expansion info?
SA will be coming, "soon".

3. Customer service to reflect industry standards
*resounding silence*

4. A true and honest game (Alot less cheating)
We're doing stuff, but we can't talk about it. *Insert reference to the burning of naughty-people's houses* "See what we did there?"

I'm not one to walk around with a sandwich board around my neck reading "The End Is Nigh!" but I really couldn't help myself there :dunce:

Personally I don't care about the next expansion.

I'd rather they fix what is already in the game.

I’ve seen the slew of questions that arose from my last post, so I wanted to take the time to respond to a smattering of them:

What is the size of the team?

I will answer this as I answered the post to 4gamer.net: "As many as we need, but not as many as I'd like." I will tell you simply, I really enjoy the team as it is. The team relates well, plays well, and everyone enjoys their job.

So we haven't lost ONE dev to Warhammer?

Raining down fire on malcontents, or contributing to a legendary tale of good and evil that's lasted longer than any other community … yes, we do love our jobs.

Along with this subject, you may know that we lost a few folks in the transition from Redwood Shores. Fortunately we've been able to find other talent who both love the game, and are passionate about being part of the team. So what are we doing with these new people?

Three things: Fixing, designing, and training.

I will tell you we recently had to figure out where to put some new team members coming in next week without sitting them in Draconi's lap.

Next:

Why don't you tell us what's on the schedule?

Simply because the schedule is subject and subjected to changes every six hours to six days, and in the case of the Epic event ... six MONTHS. We discussed the content for the Epic Event last October, and had to postpone it. We are still on target for the bulk of the content by late May, and it's going to be a prelude to something realm-changing.

We have heard this for the last 10 years , prove us doom and gloomers wrong

Some of the team saw the new art last week, and the Art Director himself was quite impressed. Our concept guys leapt at the chance to create this new content. Look for it in June.

Was this delayed??

"Hey! Wait a minute! You said in late May!" I just proved my point.

Why does it take so long to provide ?

We are constantly going through levels of refactoring while we're implementing fixes and content. Often, problems we expected to take several hours can extend to a couple of days. To make something worthwhile, and to fix more than we break takes time. We've actually been getting the Evil Eye from QA a lot the last few days. So we would rather make sure it's fixed -- when at all possible -- before releasing it.

In many ways you have all provided your own answers: "I've seen this for years and it's still broken." Historically, and presently the constant demand for content sometimes outweighs the time and resources to fix old features and systems. We'll try to do our best.

Not only for the community but also for the respect and love of Ultima itself, that’s what keeps us pressing forward. I'll try to avoid the kumbaya moment, but there is so much behind the scenes that we can't share and at times we tend to draw blood from our bottom lip because we can't.

I know you have all been very patient with multiple iterations of the Ultima Online team concerning bug fixes and content delivery. All I can say is thank you, and bow respectfully.

Finally:

What about KR? What about SA?

As far as Kingdom Reborn is concerned – We have a couple of fixes going in this publish: walking as a ghost across the bridge in the Wind dungeon, and a legacy toggle issue with pink tiles around cave entrances. I’m not a fan of the color pink, sorry about the delay on this. There are a few others, but know we’re still working on more goodies. Also, we’re still investigating most of the topics discussed here on the boards. To this end, in the near future we’d like to do some server load/stress testing. We’re discussing between 20-25 players chasing a few devs and GMs around. Please be prepared to share frame rates, machine and OS specs.

Also know all new content will be updated for both Kingdom Reborn and the Legacy clients for the Epic Event.

Sighs. So much for the light publish.

Begins to walk away...

"WHAT ABOUT Stygian Abyss?! ..." He pauses slightly, without turning, a mild chuckle pressing the corners of the room, “We announced the expansion over a year ago, and you should be hearing more news about it soon.” He continues a slow shuffle into a dark room, most likely to be eaten by a grue.

Door closes ... footsteps fade. Following you open the door to discover a beach at sunset. There is a blue page here.
You cant run away from us ,we love our game to much , we just want honest straight answers , or our game a chance to break more records

I would be just fine if they didnt do anymore expansions. Everytime they do an expansion, they let 3-4 months to pass by, then they whip out their "nerf" stick, and a huge part of the expansion is completely changed, and often times rendured useless. So all the time and money spent collecting and adjusting to the changes, gets turned into a huge waste of time. For example, Ecru Citrine Rings (sorry if spelling is off) would have a chance in having 75% pot enhance, when making these rings. So whether you spend hundred's of hours mining the gems needed to make these rings, or if you spent tons of gold to buy the gems in which they usually sold for 1 Ecru Citrine is 50-75k ( Takes ten to make ONE so 500-750k is spent on the slim chance that you make one with the 75% pot enhance, and then you still need some decent mods to compliment your template) I spent over 50 mill buying those gems, and finally got a ring that had 3 fast cast recovery. Then poof enhance pots is capped from 100 to 50%, the rings had their mods reduce to 50%, so in essence I spent all that money for nothing.

1. Servers are online.
2. The next expansion will come next to the current expansion.
3. Only fans play UO. So all you need is fan service. *draws a naked dragon* hmmm sexy!
4. No, you need a fan game. You are playing the true UO, the first MMORPG! Aren't you happy? :)

I don't want another half-assed bullcrap of lies about the state of UO. All I want is the date the expansion is going to come out.

While none of what you ask for is necessarily unreasonable, I also do not feel ignored.

This storyline took, is taking, a lot of work and effort, planning and thinking.

It will definitely work until WHO comes out, and then Marc Jacobs can make up his mind if SA will be KR-only or not.

I don't feel ignored. The new pets rock and the events have been cool. Sometimes I wonder if the Melissa thing shouldn't have been available in Fel too, though.

I could care less about the expansion, personally. I don't trust that it will come out like anything I will like, not to mention if its KR only, it will for all practical purposes not exist for me.

My favorite "lands" are the regular ones (Trammel/Fel), those are like real-world places with natural feeling cities and areas and islands and landscapes. Tokuno/Malas/Ilshnear are weird and artificial-looking in comparison. I sorta hate T2a even though I spend a lot of time there, its just nasty (it doesn't help that T2a came out at a time when we were dying for housing space, and there was no housing to be had there, so that's a bad memory).

I was happy to get dread horses and superdragons and have been happy with most of the things they fixed. They didn't actually talk about all the exploits they fixed - - one of these exploits they fixed was making certain despicable cheating PVPers into god-mode chars, with health flowing into him seemingly out of nowhere.

The main things I personally wish to change for the future are related to fixing stuff that doesn't work right. For example -

- - - the new code where pets check the PET OWNER'S LINE OF SIGHT, god I wish they would remove this if they cannot quickly fix the issues where bumpy terrain blocks the line of sight, it's awful, it must not be left as it is!

- - - exploit involving moving shot with weapons that don't legitimately have it

- - - flagging and event ordering type of issues, such as the one which turns all armor with Reflect Physical into wearer-endangering garbage in Felucca, and the ones that cause players who are not performing aggressive actions to become flagged as such.

A number of people seem to really live for the new content, like expansions and such. For your sake I hope they give you what you want, but I personally don't go for that stuff.

I def feel like any comments at this point from EA staff would be nice concerning SA. At least whether its still happening, maybe a few teasers, a hazy timeframe for release, basically anything other than "I cant say anything at this time" would be better than absolutely nada.

The cheating (scripting/duping) is so obvious now that its become common, not at all rare to see people doing this everyday. Would be nice if you could actually report someone and then not see the same person doing the same thing the very next day.

So yea, not to join the incessant whiner's club, but again, would be nice.

As long as they do nothing to stop that ever so popular but very illegal scripting program that-shall-not-be-named, then yes I feel ignored.
