So a house fell and I went to place my first new house since returning to UO. Nope. there is a time (that I am sure you all know) that blocks placement. I understand that they needed to block scripters from placing, but comon. It has been 45 minutes. I waited hours, watched other loot it clean and I am still sitting here in Catskills waiting. At the Test Center house decay it took nearly 3 hours before you could place.

Its just that I watched this thing for days, when it fell others looted and I waited. Didnt take a scrap. I just want the home. Now, an hour into it, I am wondering when I might get the chance. 3 hours? Thats a bit harsh.

Should have looted while you waited, that's your fault not the system.

If it's a highly valued spot you stand a better chance of getting it with the current system. If it's not a valued spot you'll probably get it anyways.

Systems implemented by game companies to penalize cheaters should not penalize legitimate players. I watched the house over days. Making me wait up to 4+ hours where anyone could happen along and see the spot is a bit much.

EA is hurting players trying to go after scripters.

See.... Silly Me... I love it when EA goes after these guys & the small discomforts from the repercussions at their various attemps to reduce scripting are quite worth the results IMO.....

But you see thats the funny part. Instead of solving the problem, they cimply leveled the playing field. Now scripters have even odds. They have the same chance I do. So in the end, the scripter simply has to compete, not auto-win. It doesnt eliminate the problem though. Just balances it.

And again, I was there first no one around and I had a shot as losing it. So the scripters technically have won. They made EA change their game, and harmed legally playing characters.

The other stupid part of the system is the 15 day old char rule. I was going to give a keep to a returning player, but we have to wait becuase none of his Chars on legends are 15 days old. This player who is coming back could be enjoying and decorating his keep, but now has to wait.

If you had the patience to wait for the house to fall, surely you can exercise the same patience for a bit longer? If you'd been there under the old system, you might be here complaining that someone out-placed you and then grabbed all the loot onto the plot with a brand new account.

It's also worth pointing out that Fel has a lot of empty spaces, some on Europa at least, in some stunning secluded areas. In all honesty, I wouldn't stress out over a Tram plot without having a look around the nice areas of Fel.

Seems to me if a scripter really wants the spot he'll just sit their just like you and wait for the timer to be up and still script place the house faster than you.
