Factions and alliances

Can anyone tell me how to add a faction guild to an alliance, or has something broken since Publish 54? We have been trying to get our faction guild into our alliance but we are getting the message that you cannot add a guild of a different faction type to the alliance [the current alliance has no factions within it].

As you cannot convert a guild to factions once within the alliance now, we seem stuck.

I know there is a faction forum, but that seems dead and nobody has answered a similar question posted there.

The guild needs to quit factions, then join the alliance, then rejoin factions...... I have a guild that did this, but I still believe it needs to be changed so factions are stand-alone.

That isn't working on Siege. We DID have the guild quit factions, join the alliance and then try to re-join factions. Won't let them join factions now.

That is how it was before pub 54. Pub 54 says you have to quit the alliance to join faction and then can presumably rejoin after. I put a post asking about this on the faction forum with no response.

I thought from what I read, was if one guilds wasnt in a faction, they couldnt ally one that was...but its early I could be recalling that wrong, or not reading your post right. Either wouldnt be a first for me.

Per the Publish notes:

Non-faction guilds that are part of an alliance can no longer join a faction without first leaving their alliance.

If your Faction guild is already in an alliance? Unaffected. (I can confirm that much; my TB guild is still fully allied.)

If you are already a Faction guild, and then after you sign up to a Faction want to ally? Unaffected.

If your guild is in an alliance, and you want to put that guild in Factions, you will need to leave the alliance, join Factions, then re-join the Alliance.

If it's not working this way, post it here and send in a bug report.

I thought it was changed so you can ally after the guild joins factions, you just can't stay allied when they join. So now we have guilds who are allied and others who can not?

Nope, it won't let you ally to a non-faction guild/alliance.

If your guild is in an alliance, and you want to put that guild in Factions, you will need to leave the alliance, join Factions, then re-join the Alliance.

Leads to same problem as above.

So I will submit a bug report I guess.

Have you tried it so that the faction guild is leading the alliance, or the other way around?

If you've done both... then this should be re-thought/addressed.
