whats the best way to kill a rikktor these days

popped a rikktor on the island last nite. got thru the spawn fine and
got him up but couldn't kill him. Granted we only had 4 people there, but
was wondering what is the best way to take down this champ?

2-3 chiv archers can take him easily if they are using alot of +dex or +DI and reptile slayers.
If you have mages.. Cast EVs and mind blast away. He doesn't cast, but does a lot of damage with earthquake. A greater dragon with either of these two combos will take him down.
If I remember right I think he can be discorded. That would help a lot.

we were figuring chiv would help, unfortunately none of us had it. we were using a dragon and casting ev's but he was dispelling the ev's almost immediately. maybe its time to make a chiv archer.

also, can he be peaced?

Very difficult to be peaced. And when you do, it doesnt stay peaced for very long. Enemy of one helps a lot and a reptile slayer is a must. You will be wasting a lot of arrows/bolts for nothing if you dont use a reptile slayer. Put as much damage increas as possible.

AFAIK Horselord still works, its reptile slayer...

Using a necro in combination to a chiv archer will help him go down faster too if ya keep him corpse skinned and use fire based spells, while having your pally use Cons Wep and EoO.

Seems kinda ironic to use Fire on a dragon, but youd be suprised hehhe

I know cold is his lowest resist, but ya cnt get close nuff to wither him, and your damage over time on fire spells will hurt him more than Mind blast, at least in my experience with him.

Yean Rikktor is too hard now, in all honesty.

Discord makes a serious difference against him (but he's still too hard overall imo). What happens for Archers and Tamers is that at first, Rikktor's Earthquake special hits for a really large radius and messes up or kills the people who are trying to keep pets up or shoot ranged weapons. The people just have to struggle and deal with that until Rikktor's HP goes down a bit. As his HP goes down, the range and intensity of that EQ decreases and it's more manageable to be close enough to heal pets or shoot with arrows. It's getting over that hump that's hell, you can have people dying left and right at the very outset. After that it can work out aite. On an archer I'd certainly at least start out with a dragon/reptile slayer BOW and not a shorter-range crossbow because of how that ranged EQ works.

Superdragon with big HP big wrestling and big phys resist is imo the best pet to put on him, but it requires mage healers and the mage healers can be one-shotted by the EQ effect at first.

Without Discording Rikktor though... it's sorta not even worth it.

Like others have said, archer. Discord rules. Best tactic I have done is to have a disco/provo bard. Disco him then provoke it onto something on a ledge. You can use that tactic on many of the boss' but they eventually kill it most of the time. There are ways to do it more effectively abusing pathing rules.

Some friends of mine were going ore elemental hunting a few months ago in Ilshenar (trying for more paragon ore ele cests for our collection), and the Rikktor got led by someone across the Valor bridge. It took 4 of us over 4 hours to kill him, as only one of us had an archer available at the time (despite our wearing quivers - I personally use mine to collect arrows for my archer while hunting rat archers for spined on my swordsman). This screencap was over two hours into the fight. He seemed to move in such a way (much faster than Rikktor normally, and hitting a lot harder), and seemed to take so little damage (we were doing about 250 points to him every 10 seconds), we thought that perhapes he'd spawned as a stealth paragon or was blackrock infected. We'd killed Rikktor on sevral occasions after the buff with the same characters in a half-hour, so SOMETHING was wrong - we just never figured out what.
