Im calling shenanigans on the drop rate. Ive been hunting (slaughtering by the truckload) high fame/karma critters in Fel for about a week now. These things are still giving lots of fame/karma at glorious lord. And still not a single drop. I spend about an hour each night on them, then hit the lizardmen for about 20-30 minutes.
Trick that has worked for myself and others ... do high-fame stuff for a good portion then go somewhere super easy - Despise 1, Shame 1, etc. Take 'em down hard, fast and ugly. It's been then that I've gotten my drops.
Even switching between slow kill rate-high fame/karma mobs down to fast kill rate-low/no fame/karma mobs Im not getting anything. I kill 20-30 of my face high end mob, and then burn through Desp lizardmen for 30 or so minutes atleast once a day.
Where is this guy, I wanna stab him in the face.
when you go back past the area that when you run in itll just teleport you out repeatedly then go back a little ways, its just before the stairs leading down.
These are not part of the turn in though right?
The Katarina's crook and Jana's staff are labeled arty lvl 11 and are part of the turn ins, but it is also possible to get virtue armor pieces, which are not part of turn-ins. So even if you get one bestowed upon you, it may or may not help for the turn-ins.
Are the armor pieces worth anything?
I hunted so much in the virtue dungeons that i completed 2 virtue armor sets already. While everyone was killing trogs and doing peerless, i was usually the only person in despise collecting spined hides and trying to finish the suits. It still is my favorite place to hunt.
I get one about every 200k gold regardless of what realm I'm playing on. I've gotten them from the same monsters in Tram that I have in Felucca. Every once in awhile it seems like a dry streak, but I normally average one every 200k gold farmed.
Course if you are a tamer its almost all super easy.
ALL of the level 11 artifacts are turn ins. The crook and staff are just not worth the same ammount of points. I've turned in two chaos shields at 10k points a piece.
About 90-100k a piece on most shards.
The funny aspect is you honestly believe that because it works for you it will work for everyone. Thats not a very accurate take. You are probably just getting lucky. I've done my fair share of rats in Despise from beginning to end, and I've only gotten one artie out of it.
You don't have to be a tamer for that to work....My dexxer I can just park at a lot of high end critter spawns and watch him auto defend and cast EoO when needed and not have to worry about healing. After a couple hours of this I go bash low end critters and usually get a drop.Course if you are a tamer its almost all super easy.
