Paladin weapons

So for the weapons can the same weapons be crafted that have those two special moves. I always stayed away from mace because I thought you couldn't get WW and DS on a macing weapon.

No, these are not yet craftable. Hopefully they will be after a future event.

Picked up a Paladin Hammer of Fire today and took my 4/6 Paladin to Navrey. 120s in Macing/Tactics/Anatomy/Bushido/Chiv/Parry. It was a cakewalk - swung for about 200 per DS, and Stagger kept Navrey's damage low. These new hammers really level the playing field between swords and macing. It is now more of a question of DPS v. tanking, as it should be.

The new shields also have stats that make them awkward to fit onto many characters. It is clearly meant to be used with chiv. But doesn't have any fc on it, which will force people to build new suits around it.

I suspect the vast majority of people who do use shields on their dexxers would be better off using bulwark of light, aegis, etc. over it.

As I have many times. Macing has 1 hand weapons for macing that do DS, WW, and AI.

If you played a macer you would see this new hammer will be your main weapon.

Thank God, the devs don't listen to posters. Both weapons are best with those specials for the class. The devs know what is needed.

Or do you think the new war hammer having DS and WW is a bad thing.

We also have the new AI hammer for macing.

No self superiority, I know how to read about the game I play.

I'm not sure what reality you are in, not knowing about the types of weapons we use and their specials.
I know myself and many others who also asked play shield warrior who wanted the weapons to be one handed and it makes no sense to offer it on fencing but not macing

What part of 1 handed mace weapons are already in the game do you not understand?

You want a lesser version of the macing weapons that already exist?

Your like the guy who wanted them to be a Lance. Can't get max speed on a Lance.

Until you can craft these weapons with the special abilities I don't see much use until then for fencing/macing.
Why? 100% LL and ML is a pretty amazing combo that I don’t think you can craft, and while it doesn’t have HLA, Stagger is pretty darn effective. I can get to 300% DI pretty easily with cameos, Bushido, and Chiv. I’ll use these weapons way before any craftable maces. The only non-swords weapon that really competes IMO is the Divine Sanctifier, which may be my favorite weapon in the game, but it is a 1H weapon with no WW.

If I’m using a shield, I tend to use the Divine Sanctifier for single targets and a whip for spawns. There isn’t a 1H sword with WW and AI or DS, either. The wakizashi has FWW and DS, but that’s more of a PVP weapon.

So you use Divine Sanctifier over a slayer?
I do, yeah, for single target. Slayer only helps get to 300% DI, and I can easily hit that with 100% from my equipment, 100% from a cameo, 100% from honoring, 82% EEO at 120 chiv, etc. I do think slayers can be valuable for spawns, however, so I'll often use a slayer whip.

they could made an AI 2 handed mace weapon, this one we are missing. I dont see any 2 handed Ai mace weapons. We already had 2 wepons for mace fighting that could fill the DS and WW abilties. I know they were not the best ones compared to Swords, but they existed. I like a lot the 2 handed maces they introduced that i am even thinking in change my pure shield paladin to a bushido paladin just to use those weapons. The thing is we still miss a nice 2 handed with AI. Could be a paladin maul with AI and Crushing blow.

An AI 2 hand macing weapon would be great! I doubt they make one.

When the whips came out, I was hoping they would be 2 handed or let us hold a chair shield.

what is the general consensus about the new weapons? i have a 4/6 mace and shield paladin and i am considering 2 things:

1 - changing him to use bushido, drop the 4/6 fc/fcr and go with the 2 handed new hammers, but then i am at a odd spot where for AI i have to use a 1 handed, in this case hammer picks. I also want to note that i love divine sanctifier, as @ultima2005 have said, it is my favorite weapon and it is what hold me back into going for 2 handed with bush.

2 -Also i feel that i should make a paladin to use the fencing weapons and probably be a 4/6 fc/fcr and with shield. AS a one handed he would be just ok, since the paladin forks have AI and DS and i could craft whips for the WW.

I am just not sure ifi want to spend all the resources needed and effort to make it happen. What are your guys toughts?

The hammer rocks the first round of the spawn but unless we can add slayer types to it won't be used as much

i actually put together a 4/6 Bushido paladin that uses the new hammers. I get the FC/FCR from a Scholar’s Halo, Ornament of the Magician, and a 1/3 ring. I like the template a lot — macing and 4/6 is a good combo since Stagger slows down hits.

If you like the Mace and Shield combo, I’d say just stick with it. A Divine Sanctifier with 4/6 is hard to beat.

There needs to be a recipe for crafting blank Paladin Weapons.

yeah, it was what i was thinking. For now i will just collect a pair of each of them, maybe in the future we can see a more solid future for these weapons.

I really don’t have much trouble hitting the damage cap (or close enough) without Bushido between the DI on my equipment, cameo, 84% DI from EOO, 15% from CW, and the 5% bonus from the warrior mastery. The lack of slayer comes into play more with spawns, but I haven’t had much of an issue.

I get way too many plants when I use my Macer on the spawn with the new Hammer.

I asked this question in another thread, but I wanted to ask it here too - I finally trained Fencing to try out the new forks. I tested Thrust a great deal, and while I was able to see the damage modifier increase, the damage reduction percentage never moved from 18%. My understanding is it is suppose to go up to 50%. I tried Thrust with different weapons and different attacks - including just a base physical auto attack without consecrate weapon - and the damage reduction stayed at 18%. What am I missing?
