It's meant to be upgrade for pendant of the magi and it does It's job I do wish the gargoyle version had resistance
I posted the info in anoher thread a while ago: You cannot apply POF on the human/elf version, only the gargoyle version of the medallion. (Note that I tested this on test center, not sure about the live servers. )
It took some work, but I was able to fit it into my character while still having full resists. I never felt compelled to with the pendant of magi, but +12 SDI is hard to ignore.
Thanks for asking about this as I was thinking of cashing in for one. So far I've only acquired the leather leggings and the undead spellbook. I don't think I'm gonna be able to play enough before the event ends to gather enough drops to fulfill my wish list.
It doesn't help I keep stashing drops to create sets of armour, shenanigans like that. I presume they will become 'redundant rares' post event.

This is a necklace (not bracelet). If you have a max SDI mage (word of death mage) this is a must. If you also grab the SDI pants reward from this event, that gives you a bump in resists over the kelp leggings (assuming you have other legendaries and reward like the shogun chest with high resist). Overall I was able to fit it into my SDI suit without losing all 70s.
The only reason not to get it IMO is if you can't manage the resists OR you are already able to hit the 250 SDI cap without it.
