Metal Weapon repair - can we avoid durability loss?

Specifically for imbued Axes, Swords etc : You will always lose 1 point of durability by using highh level repair deeds (listing 160 smithy skill)?
Is there a chance you will not lose durability 1 point each time, by having the blacksmith preform a direct repair, rather than player use a repair deed?
Ty in advance for info.

I think it's possible if you repair it when it has high durability remaining; ie 190/255 durability instead of waiting until it gets down to like 90 / 255. That said, I'm not 100% that it will work like that every single time because I've also lost some durability doing it that way too.

Losing durability is one of the few ways to "remove items" from the game so I'm not sure if there is any full proof way to prevent durability loss.
