The ability technically works, but I don’t think it’s commonly used in PvP
. The main reason is that most specials in PvP are offensive, but another factor is the type of weapons it’s available on—nunchucks, sai, and the wild staff.
I don’t PvP as much as others (mainly just during ToT in Fel), but I’ve rarely seen nunchucks or sai used in PvP. I did face someone using a wild staff (a niche template), and while they did okay against my PvM samphire (got me low but couldn’t finish me), they struggled against my parry mage (a more standard PvP template).
It really depends on the type of PvP you’re aiming for. If you’re looking for hardcore PvP, like on ATL in Yew, I’d stick with the standard setups I mentioned earlier. However, if you’re just engaging in less populated areas, picking off PvM players, or defending against a lone PK, you can get creative with your weapon choice and still find moderate success. Some less common specials or tactics can catch mid-tier players off guard.
