If he did purchase UO, while some will say its better than EA, he does not have the resources EA does and given the failure of his more recent projects, I feel the game would have much less of a backstop should something go wrong.

Not sure I believe much of anything will come of it... but we will see.

On the one hand I have zero respect for Broadsword and on the other hand it's been a long time since Garriott was involved with UO. Could things get worse? Probably... I just think it was an odd thing to say when he previously wasn't entertaining the idea.

Garriott had a DREAM and put a team together to make that dream come true, he did NOT create UO all by himself. He has had other dreams and so far he has proven he is NOT able to put teams together to make those dreams come true. What makes people think he has the ability to put a team together to fix UO.

God help me I agree with Frodo

Well, it can't be any worse than Broadsword / Mesanna...can it? ;)
Yes. Yes it can. Failed MMOs that had more resources than Mesanna/Broadsword.

Be happy that we still have UO. Some of these games were great but didnt have the support or community to sustain them. While some of our Devs choices are not well received and outright lame, some have been great. And we get to still log into this world and forget some of our RL issues.

I doubt ole Rich can maintain/support this game without someone like EA bankrolling it. Id love to see him involved again because the late 90s early 00s were some of the best online gaming experience's out there. The fact I can say Ive been actively playing this game since 98 and was still in highschool should count for something!

It cant be all that bad to still have thousands of active players. Sure it may not be 10s of thousands, but there is still enough revenue coming to at least keep this game going.

I'm really hoping that Richard gets ownership again and the current UO dev team are ousted. Anything is better than the current situation with the negativity that surrounds Mesanna's management. Richard's recent track record is pretty terrible but I'm willing to support him as long as it's not another Kickstarter money grab. At least Richard seems to want to make his game great again. He is the man who started this whole amazing game, and we have to give him some credit.

What do you mean recent??? He has failed at everything he has done after leaving UO.
