Turning a current spawning 2 slot Nightmare into a Magery Nightmare

I bought a 2 slot Void Nightmare at an Auction so I decided to build it today.

Here is what I started with.



I did not calculate the intensity because its what I have.

Since I was going to train it today I decided to put things on that aid that first.
You can build the Base pet in any order.

First Round:

1. Set Stamina to Max
2. Set Dex to Max
3. Set the resistances the way I want them.
4. Put Hit Points to 400
5. Put leftover points in Strength

Second Round:

1. set the Strength to Max
2. Set Intel to 370
3. set your Regens 20 5 30 works
4. any more points you can put on Mana No need to go over 500 now.

Third Round: Last Round

1. Finish Anything from above.
2. Set Base Damage per second to MAXIMUM
3. Put on Armor Ignore
4. Magery Mastery costs 1 point. If you desire.

At this point you decide what scrolls you will use and what Cost.
(this determines what is left for HP and Mana)

Full 120s cost 785 Points. You do not need a Magery 120, 110 Magery is fine, pets do not fizzle.

This horse with Full 120s and the Resists capped would look like this.



So Like I have been saying, do not use a PP Nightmare for a magery pet!

A current 2 slot will work just fine.

I decided to go with 110 Scrolls for everything. Also I practice what I preach,
I do not need high Poison and Cold resist on This pet.

This pet has 350 Points to use. I could max the resist category, I could have more HP or lots more Mana.
I could put the Stamina Regen to 10. I could put some 120 scrolls on Later.



But here would be a finished Magery Nightmare. The current spawning 2 slot ones have plenty of points to use.
You can have more cool colors.

Don't waste a PP Nightmare with Magery.

As any pet, AI/Chiv.

They look very similar to this magery pet, But they have the extra points to put Chiv on.





It also has enough points left to put 120 scrolls on.

Dreadmares start at 3 slots and have more HP so they are more difficult to build but if you are good you can make one of those AI/Chiv.




This has enough points left for a 120 resist scroll..

Ran the starting numbers through cah's calculator and it comes up as a very low 9% intensity 3 slot... which means its is an overcapped intensity 2 slot..

I just finished a 2 slot 102 intensity pure black mare up to all GM skills and ready for its first advancement... holding off for now on advancing it until i get a firm idea on what i want it to be.... or until someone wants to wow me with an offer for it

So I got a good deal? I have literally never put a current spawning Nightmare in the calculator.

Figured 25M for a Void, not bad. Ill buy it.

Is there any practical reason to mess with nightmares , wasting 115 -120 scrolls on them. Like something they hunt best or it all just for fun ?

Anything that does other than 100% physical damage is better to use everywhere except Dreadhorn. You don't have to rely on its special for it to do damage.
