use studded, bone or stone armor pieces, and strip the ‘mage armor’ property if they have it. 5 pieces give 3 lmc bonus each
you can strip ‘mage armor’ from cuffs of archmage and gloves of archlich, as a start.
‘do that at a mage guild master.

separate from that, due to no mage armor on the item, you can then use armor refinements to get to 75 resists (80 energy on elf).

EC also shows the lmc55 adjusted mana cost in the spellbook spell info.

It does show on CC; I'm looking now. Are you sure that you're high enough to be above 40?

LMC 55works. But it stops gains from meditation.
Good for Mana leech and Mana drain. Bad if you rely on your own Mana regen (from Intellect and Meditation skill)
