Guild leader voting is broken

@Kyronix This needs a redesign or a fix. My guild leader has been dead and not logging in since August 2018. We can't replace him as guild leader.

Apparently spamming in guild chat "vote for (name of proposed replacement)" for months isn't effective enough.
The suggestion I got here "demote everyone to Ronin that you can" is repellent.

@Kyronix please redesign or fix. Even something like "If the guild leader doesn't log in for six months, the next emissary to log in becomes leader" would be superior to what we have now, which is essentially being leaderless for years.

ive never had any issues with replacing guild leaders.
we just all log in and vote for who we want and a day or 2 later he is the guild leader.
it sounds like you are not hitting the threshold of minimum people voting for 1 person.

Make every one one a ronin but a few, every one needs to vote for a new guild master, restore every ones rank to what it was. If you do not vote then it is a vote for the old GM.

I wish we could. There are so many many emissaries who haven't logged on in years, and they can't be demoted or kicked by anyone short of Guild Leader. I strongly suspect that defunct characters are still counted as getting their votes in for the years-deceased leader, who is probably himself on a defunct account.

This is an old respected guild and it deserves this effort on your part. I know this might be something that you really don't want to do, yeah, I'm jumping to a conclusion here but you know me, (*wink*) but how about emailing Bonnie with details of the known issues and details? I'm 99.9% sure she will look into seeing if his account is still active and possibly the status of members who have voting privileges. It could possibly be worth the effort.

Change so if a character hasn't logged in xxx days the are demoted to reserves and count for nothing losing rank titles etc

We had that problem years ago. Someone who hadnt been on in 6 months became leader. Everyone and the rest of his people logged in to promote one person and still it didnt matter. We started another guild.

this is a big can or worms to change. maybe start another guild. the only thing i would think about changing. if guild leader doesnt log in for a year, maybe can change/vote out. some changes can cause major drama.

Maybe add a hall of fame option.

When one leader isn't active for some period of time ( 2 years ? ) they can move him to a ( name of guild) hall of fame so he keeps an important title . Then someone more alive can keep the guild business rolling along. New leader voted on or chosen somehow...

That's funny, I was gonna say I'm 99.9% sure she won't do anything to help in this situation.

But hey, I've only had years of ignored emails or completely unrelated and useless responses from her. What do I know?
