Can anyone confirm if the drop rate for Deceit items is increased by luck?
Good logic, and it may well be the caseYou know, saying "luck affects drops" does NOT exclude the effect being "higher luck reduces number of drops".
"luck affects drops" does not automatically equal "higher luck improves drops"....
They can make it that way, or another for different things, according to their whim. Prime example the EM events. Thy are the the controllers of the game or old fashioned DM. And, they usually speak in riddles, like the old DMs did, avoiding giving too many clues.Normally luck gives higher property value on items. Does High Luck make the drops major artifact or even some legendaries?
Sorry. I'm not buying that. They can make it that way, or another for different things, according to their whim. Prime example the EM events. Thy are the the controllers of the game or old fashioned DM. And, they usually speak in riddles, like the old DMs did, avoiding giving too many clues.
its not that they speak in riddles to avoid giving clues they speak in riddles to prevent themselves from speaking in definites that the player base could turn around and prove is wrong. Basically its better to sound mysterious then to be proven stupid. They can make it that way, or another for different things, according to their whim. Prime example the EM events. The game luck experienced may be non-linear, and I doubt if we ever can take a look at the formula for luck in this game, other than posted in uoguide and uo website. Also you may need to factor in the fact that most high luck characters may have sacrificed some stats and skills and important items on the gear. So not sure what may show if you did 1000 encounters with 3100 luck, vs 1000 with 150 luck. Time spent with each luck choice may not be important, but encounters or kills need to be factored in to make more accurate assessments. Kinda of hard to count encounters when in battle wiping out spawn. They always say (or said at any rate) luck helps..
I have ran around for an hour with right at 3100 luck and ran around for an hour with only 150 (Minax Sandals on my normal suit).... I personally yielded more drops with the 150 luck.
Sooooo
I get what you are saying. My luck suit does lack some of the mods my high end suit does for sure. But even at that my kill rate is about 25% less than what it is on the other suit. I would expect to see at least the same drop level if luck was working as the players think it should. Yet the yield ratio was very lopsided in favor of the low luck. In the end RNG is still RNG I think, no matter what kind of overlays they stick on it.The game luck experienced may be non-linear, and I doubt if we ever can take a look at the formula for luck in this game, other than posted in uoguide and uo website. Is the potion you're referring to the "Potion of Glorious Fortune"? I can't find anything on that except for how it would increase points gained for creatures from the old Treasures of Khaldun event and more recently the Soulbound Pirates from last year.Kyronix says it does and since he made the event, i would think luck helps.
The in store potion gives bonus to drops too.
Ohh..oohh, Da nerf-batIf you believe in luck, go for it. You will need it now. It seems they drop rates have been stealth tweaked and other changes. No healers in the dungeon, "trap door" (I actually never new about it. I just recall in) is gone, and the drop rate to me seems to be cut in half. I have been hardcore at it since release and late this afternoon things seem very different.
