Well considering that I can only stand to do it about an hour or so at a time and I work weekends with absolutely ZERO time to do anything at all in between working eating and sleeping... you are probably 10 miles ahead of me on points... I'm trying to get things done but it's very slow going. Spend most my time cleaning up I think after everyone else killing all the sea serpents, water eles and krakens that are all over in the way.

I have about 6k doubloons on Origin and about 14k on Sonoma solely from killing spawn around plunder beacons. Got the lame idea last week of trying to do fishing quests again to try to get a 120 fishing PS and after spending way too many hours trying to get 20 spiney lobsters for one order, I'm having a hard time motivating myself to even log in.

Not enough options.

I currently have 8k, which to me is far different from simply "under 1 million". I've only turned in about 35k in Buc's Den.

The reason is that I'm a GOVERNOR. I won't stab my fellow governors in the back by turning in mythic chests for doubloons.

On LA, 5 or 6 of the 9 cities are under 50 million, last I checked - one was under 20 million. And, some of the governors have stated that they won't turn their trade deals back on until they hit 50 million in funds, the last time we governors got together.

My own city (Britain) is over 400 million funds (so won't miss the funds - someone is dropping a few crates there anyway), and New Magincia is capped out a 1 billion (due to someone buying all their characters titles a couple years ago, and getting elected one time to set the trade deal then never doing anything else as governor). The city is without a governor - the only one without an elected governor (though another has failed to accept). So, those are the only two cities that I feel right in being selfish with.

If I only fought plunderbeacons I would have to balance that by lumberjacking for boards to repair damage and crafting to make all the too-many things needed to fire the cannon.

Just going from beacon to beacon is nearly impossible as the waters a virtually filled with serpents and everything else that blocks your movement... which then I have waste time killing and killing and killing just to get from one beacon to the next because certain people just kill the beacon and leave all this crap behind for the next guy to take care of.

Somebody on board has a bane or mage pet that kills those. Mage can cast and drive. My guys are full of the other crates by the end of the day.

so like have a bard playing a mastery for the party just parked in the middle of the ship, couple tamers with fire damage pets, couple archers slinging arrows.
so in stead of just one mythical chest per beacon you can get like 4 or whatever.

@MalagAste killing the sea serpents and kraken "left behind" will get you cargoes. I've gotten quite a few Legendary ones just killing the sea creatures.

You logon account 1, steer ship locate beacon. Place ship as close as possible to the beacon.
now login youre 2nd account.
Cast RC on beacon with account 1 and 2.
move to other side of beacon, and kill orc crew with RCs.
Now position ship so u can shoot the lighthouse.
account 1 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.
account 2 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.
account 3 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.
account 4 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.
account 5 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.
account 6 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.
account 7 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.
account 8 shoot lighthouse with 1 shot from cannon.

When i locate a beacon it takes roughly 10min, i do it with 6 accounts. so thats 60k points pr beacon.
Beacons spawns more or less around the same location, so place 3 boats, and u can more or less recall from beacon to beacon.

Beacons have timers. If not attacked they will despawn, leaving all the water bound critters roaming the area.

Sometimes it’s not any players leaving spawn to search for the next beacon, it’s the event coding that fills areas w/ spawn because no one was around for the despawned beacon.

Kyronix stated the 8 top damagers get a crate. In party or out. Take others. We party and run 2 bard songs when we have 2.

Oh I know I kill them constantly it's just time consuming when I can only stand to play about an hour at a crack as any more than that and my shoulder starts screaming in pain... so when I spend 20 or 30% of that time I'm killing those, not the beacons which is a difference of at LEAST 9k points...

As for what @Poo said I take 2 tamers and an archer that's all my brain and computer can handle at one time... any more than that and it's just mass death all over... I die plenty as is... The problem @Poo is that the serpents don't actively attack you so my tamers don't auto target on them with the pets guarding as they just are in the way... my archer however can target them and it takes awhile to kill them when there are 6 and 10 on the screen blocking up movement... and run the ship at the same time... Now if I had a way to target the serpents with all kill while being on another character that would be nice but I don't cheat... so it's IMO a waste of time and effort to stop the boat swap to another character tell the pet to kill, swap to another tell the pet to kill and then swap back to the archer and hit them and move the boat.

May as well just move the boat and hit them with my archer... again takes time... so I can do 2 maybe 3 beakons in that hour... sometimes if I'm REAL lucky I can do 4 but that means I have to be somewhere in which I'm not competing for them with others.

Yeppers! To the point I have "pretty much" taken a Sabbatical from UO. Not completely. But like 90%. I think it was/is a crappy way to dole out the rewards piecemeal. Especially for a LIMITED TIME EVENT. If it were permanent content, it MIGHT be different. Which leads me to wonder, are they going to do the same thing with the treasure chest/sos content? Or the Halloween event, IF there is one? Just my opinion, of course. But NOT one I am alone in.

Some cannons, one of which was being touted as "the most powerful cannon to hit the high seas" but does exactly the same damage as the others. And there are those AWESOME *cough,cough* TITLES. So no, there aren't any good functional items!

Next month, we will probably get more useless titles! Like , The professor, Gilligan, The skipper, Doc, Julie, Gopher, or The Cabin Boy.

I saw it posted somewhere that the triton was 1.2 million each so that's a lot of farming. While myself and some friends would love to start adding to city coffers, that won't happen until we get enough doubloons banked (if we can before the event ends)!

Wow, then MOST players will not be able to get one.... that's an incredibly very high amount of turn ins.... we are talking of really a LOT of crates !!

Considering that most people can do 2 or at most 3 PlunderBeacons in one full hour of game play, all things included, search, repairs, mining for saltpeter and crafting of ammos etc. etc., we are talking of SOME grind of many many hours if it will be THAT high a requirement....

For what it's worth, I have seen , in SEVERAL places,that ARE people quoting/using 1.2M doubloons, AS IF THAT IS A VALID AND REAL NUMBER. So there IS some confusion. But hey, thanks for being smart a**** about it.
