Is it just me, or are the jewelry boxes badly designed?

HAHA - Yeah they need like 10o improvements. For starters they should be able to be named. So if I have mage jewelry, taming jewely etc - I can name them. For now I lock a stupid book on top of them with a name.
Second, it would be so much better if the stats were listed instead of having to hover over each tiny ring and bracelet.
Third, search??? I mean use the same features as vendor search but allow me to filter the rings by HCI or DCI or whatever.
Another item rushed out...we gave feedback...nothing changed and it will never be fixed. Ever.
Once again whomever designed this doesn't play the game.
I honestly hate to say... after 5 years of barely playing... I'm not all that impressed with how many broken things are STILL broken...
And new things that just didnt live up to any real joy or happiness.
I think the staff spends way too much time and effort selling game things for real money in the UO Store.

I don't even think they do that very well. Most of the items in the store are things that are deco or not really needed for the game. Just a few things are actually useful in the game.
They could do much better in the UO store and they could do it VERY easily.
Imagine for $10 you could buy a soulstone.
Imagine for $15 you could buy a ssoulstone loaded with 100 skill of your choice.
Imagine for $20 you could buy a soulstone loaded with 120 skill of your choice.
How many 120 soulstones would they sell at 2x the price?
Not destablizing to the game - people can all get 120 skills now.
Makes it easier for new players to 'get in the game'.
Allows vets to bypass annoying skill gain on a new toon.
etc.
Way more revenue. Pretty much zero coding.
Skills and advanced development is an insult to all vets that worked hard to gain skill honestly.
I think its even worse by the simple fact they took away the specialness of Ethereal Horses. I waited a LONG time to be able to use them. Granted, I was quite accomplished inside Atlantic... had loads of gold from hard work... when I could PICK my first Ethereal Horse, I had all of them waiting in my house for all my guys.
BUT!!! Again, at 3 years. Even when I started in Jan 2001... I had to wait till my account was 3 years. I would have never bribed my way anyplace.
I think its amazingly silly to constantly push advertisements on us when we log in. For hair dye? Come on!
I have to honestly wonder if the high price of subscriptions is why so many people have quit in the last 5 years. If they cut the monthly fee even 50%, how many people would come back. Just something to thank about. hehe

While you may call the EM stuff rubbish some of us feel that it's an important part of the history of our shard... And Yes we all worked very hard for what we have... but really I still feel that same sense of accomplishment and that is the one thing people do NOT get now when they simply buy whatever they want... but then I guess that's why they play a game for a short time and move on... they don't get that sense of accomplishment and community when all they care about is acquisitions and selling things for RL cash...
One... depending, I'm sure, but I would say all shards need a cleaning. I just dont see any real reason why so many changes are made for an hour of events where people crowd in, lag the game, and kiss butt... while EM's are far too drunk with power. Did I say they should all be terminated? Nope!
I'd say this falls in to the category of cleaning up after yourself... or putting your toys away. I chose to ignore events given with less then an hour warning. Or that Luna looks like a toybox exploded or threw-up all over the place. I really love house design and taking pride in doing a really good job in houses and decorating, hoping to do the best "realistic" job given. I dont like the fact its a joke by these items given in mass. So forgive me if I dont agree with you even a little.For the record, I dont buy or sell anything for real cash. I remember when I started, the old players hoarded houses like a real life retirement package. I laughed hard when that dream collapsed like a house of cards. Back in the day you couldn't touch a small marble house for less then 5 million gold. I also dont like having my runes blocked because of slobs trashing up Atlantic. Take a run around a Japanese shard. Some of those players do an outrageously amazing job with what any of us have on call without bending any rules or depending on handouts.
And I do agree... those of us who have worked hard, suffered greatly, gone on adventures and taken part of game-wide events like invasions and spawn that had an expiration... should be quite proud of the rares we collect. Still, love... we are talking apples and oranges. It greatly saddens me so many true old-school museums have fallen in the last 5 years. The items seam to vanish. Never know what has a kill-order on it... if staff finds it. Its not like they tell us everything. (Or much of anything, these days.)

Many people have complained that there is NOT enough advertising of the game outside the game or inside, and the advertising page can be turned off also.
The game is bound to evolve, as it has through the years. The vets that played pre AOS are not getting slapped in the face by the store or its offerings.
They could actually offer more usable items as @Theo_GL suggested. Possibly huge numbers of people now go to RMT sites to buy useful items like armor, soulstones? and of course120 PS scrolls, etc. etc. EA/BS can do nothing to fight that. Why not put better items on the in game store, items that are really useful. This will also bring in some badly needed $ for BS, and it is not necessarily evil pay to play.
So it is ok to go to an RMT site and buy a fully trained 120'd pet? Or buy the PS or other items?
Of course not. Do very many people go to the RMT's? You bet! The devs just need to be cautious and not put game-breaking stuff in there, but put somethings that are more useful that what they have in there now.

They never made a big secret out of it that they were working on a grid container for the CC in preparation for EJ. The jewelry box was basically the beta test for the EJ bank we see today. In no way they designed that thing for jewelry in particular. Just some smokes and mirrors by calling it jewelry box.
Jewelry box is the biggest fail of any item that was long waited for. With no search function it is next to useless if you play the EC. Every other container type bags, chests, baskets, corpses etc have a search function inbuilt. I have emptied all my jewelry back into chests/bags as I would rather have the lockdown hit than the total frustration and rage I get every time I wanna find ONE particular mod or group of mods and have to mouse over a hundred bits of flipping jewelry.

The EJ bank box is the same ultimate failure and there is for sure more of this crap in the pipeline.Just like they are working hard on ruining the EC dress macros right now
I still refuse to use one unless someone can tell me if they have ever fixed the issue of when you go to move it you have got to empty it out as you can't lock it down again with more than 125 items in it.

you could always separate them into the jewelry boxes & put a sign above it or next to it
sign is from one of the green holiday gift tickets, which I wish they would add to the store, so everyone could have access to them...
Just ask about in Gen Chat some of us on some shards have far more than we will ever use... If someone asks often I'll sell them or just give them away depending on if I'm on... If I haven't stripped them off your shard yet I might even have some there. Not knowing where you are...
I have tons of Jewelry I been wanting to put in the boxes but seriously if I can't move them from house to house or whatever without dumping most the stuff out of it 1 freaking click at a time I really don't want to use them.
That's why i don't reuse runic atlas's lol. Open, drop rune, open, drop rune, open, drop rune, ad nauseum...I'd rather just buy another and be on about my business...
We need people who play this game managing it.

I used the runics on one of my characters and have regretted it ever since... I used to have a set location for home and for my favorite bank... since consolidating my runes into the atlas I'm now forced to spend all this time flipping pages and such to go home or to the Bank... Had I realized this problem I would have just left the books I had where they were...
Now I can see using them for my T-Hunter books... yep space saver there... I can see using them in a Rune Library... all the stuff for a city in one book would be nice and all but otherwise I will stick to the regular rune books for places I default and go more often.
