So this morning I started TOT and right off the bat, I got a Dragon Jack O' Lantern in Deed Form. I will be doing this most of today so will update with pics and other items as I go along.

Do you need GM begging to get the special stuff or does it dramatically increase your chances?

I did ToT for about 10 minutes this morning before I took my girls to school and got a scarecrow so drop rate seems good...back at it! And hope there's more new then just the dragon lantern :/

Yes GM Begging will allow you to get the special items. Without Begging you just get candy.

Im not really sure. My character does have 1100 luck. I am also running around with a costume so not sure if that helps either

I tried with and without luck..I have a little over 1400 and I seem to get more of the rare items then without it..though I haven't gotten any of the NEW items I have gotten a lot of the older ones

I've gotten webs, crystal skulls, and the heads on spikes with characters that have less than 75 begging.

Edited to add: Just got this obsidian skull a few minutes ago on a character with 73.3 begging.

Those are now considered OLD items...the new items require GM begging. I tested it thoroughly for the past 3 years. I didn't get ANY of the new items last year with less then GM begging...stoned GM begging on and I got them all..this year I started with 79 Begging and got a TON of last years NEW items....but none of THIS years *NEW* items...stoned GM begging on and got 3 new items...at least from my testing that's how it works.

Also luck helps...for me anyway.

Do you need to have "use skill begging " in your macro or merely say "Trick or Treat" and it knows automatically that I have GM Begging? Having to use skill each time you get stuck with cool down delay.

No you just need the skill on the templete. You dont use the skill at all just run around Trick or Treating.

I noticed a pattern last year and I tended to go about 2 hours between getting the cool drops. Often they were from the year before. If I got something cool it'd be at least 2 hours till I got the next one with intense trick or treating. Often that would be one I already had. So at the very least it's a grind to catch them all. That's one of those grinds I can handle but not everyone is made that way or has the time.

I think the third is a typo. In the art files, the new Halloween stuff is all together and there are only two new skulls. Though it's possible there is another hidden in the older art.

Time will tell.

The problem with getting new items is there are so damn many of the old ones. The chances are slim.

I know it's weird I have more than 1 because it's a sucky skill to raise but I'm trying to GM everything on every server. I'm crazy.

Exactly what i typed.
As for in game, me repeating trick or treat 80000000000000 times as i run around looking for the closest npcs all bunched together.

in CC, I just use a macro (say trick or treat ) & target each npc
and I pull up the bars of the tailor guildmaster, mayor, innkeeper, & hairstylist (3 of them like to move around & one is upstairs)
all others I just target

I only do luna cause I have to use recall charges to get around
there is this one person who repeatedly comes in to the tailor shop and by the time my macro pops up, they recall out...
and all the npcs there are empty
is there a macro you can set up that does multiple targets quickly?

I do ter mur. It teleports you to only eodon or the royal city, and you can do the reffugees

This is how I have mine set up and I just run around smashing my macro

I use UOAssist so my macro is just Say then Target and I have it setup to do each room in luna with 1 click

No that's just one macro, one key...you say Trick or Treat it brings up the targeting cursor and targets the nearest mobile.
