Why am i blowing up ?

My miner using mask of Orcish kin in orc mine and keeps getting blown up is it because i'm on my pet ? oh the things I've forgotten...

The mask will explode and be destroyed (causing roughly 50 Hit Points of damage in the process) for committing following actions while wearing it:

• You attack an Orc;
• You equip it while in combat with an Orc;
• Allowing your pet to attack an Orc;
• You steal from an Orc; or
• You Polymorph.

Bag of sending would get around this scenario. Soooo Anon, DON'T take any pet into the mines, DO carry a BoS, DO have fun mining!

If I remember correctly there is a forge in the middle of the last cave ( where the orc brute is )
If you are mining for salpeter specifically (dungeon-mining) the cave to Twisted Weald is great - also Wind is the perfect spot (inside guardzone)

Technically all of ilshenar is considered "dungeon" for saltpeter. Mining from Sacrifice gate eastward, past the Mushroom cave/Weald & Spirituality, all the way to the passage to blood dungeon, is completely safe for anyone not negative karma. And, if you can avoid the spawn, you can keep going, skip over the blood dungeon entrance and harpy areas, and safely keep going most of the way to the spider caves before you run into the light spawn in the woods there. (and then, if you feel like it, keep going past it, until you start running into the wyverns and drakes between there and Compassion).

Yes Ilsh is all dungeon - I prefer groundmining though, because "wall-mining" does not seem to work properly with the Ec-Macro ( I have a macro where the floor is targeted 10x and the ore is smolten on my fire-beetle in one go )
A nice place also is wind (inside city)

I noticed this too, but I still have favorite mining spots in Ilsh like near the compassion shrine.
