Go to start - run, type Regedit.

Find Hkey_current_user/software/tugsoft/uoassist
right click uo assist folder - export to file.
Save it on your computer, as uoassist.reg or something u name.

Go down to RegInfo (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Tugsoft\UOAssist\RegInfo)

Find RegParam - change that value to decimal: 2719528996 (hex:a218b824) Thank you @obeeee

Now your UOAssist should work with10 more tries.

Dot - it may be a fix if UOA is deactivated when the update server cannot be contacted "x" (10??) times. Dunno tho ... and all my years of dinking with Windows I learned one thing: I don't mess with registry keys.

Oh, you can.. Just always make an external back up of the registry first, then an internal, then make your changes. Doesn't hurt to force Windows to also make a system restore point as a tertiary CYA measure...

But again, I ask, why is this registry edit needed currently? Is Tugsoft down? (The website isn't)

It wasn't updating yesterday and didn't just now, 9 to go for me. Hopefully it's just a glitch with the update server due to some minor change the Devs made that didn't qualify has a patch. Just leave the UO client running until your done playing each day and your good for a week and a half before you need to chance messing with the registry.

I didnt do anything, the error number goes down by one each time I login. It seems the client runs fine.

It is just a workaround for legal copies of uo assist as long the update server is unreachable.

mine was fine until today when I got a windows 10 update. I'm still waiting for devs to make a program for us cc people to replace uo assist. i feel it is so wrong to do this to the cc people. it needs to make things more fair between ec/pincos and cc. they need before ej come out, if they forget about us cc people, I'm out of here lol. just my opinions

Start uo assist - and it works again!!!

- I am trying to find the countdown, but dont see any changes from 10 to 9 uses left. The Hex is maybe different from the original post - so this might be the correct hex.

As long you have a backup of your registry key - you can always put that back.

Please don't mess with the entire UOAssist registry entries.
Just reset the counter. If Tugsoft goes under, you will never get the current updates by reinstalling if you mess up all the entries.
Just resetting the counter is minimal and you will not get server errors.

I did this and the counter did go up to 10 again, but it did not get uoassist to work. still 'unable to locate the update ace servers'

Mine was working fine till about midnight and then UO locked up and when I came back in UOAssist no longer worked. SO its weird I find that it's happening at different times. I logged in at 10:00 pm last night and it was fine for 2 hours.

This just resets the UOA updater to 10 more tries for me. Still not able to connect to UOA update servers. UOA is closed if I hit the continue button. UO starts and patches fine, just not able to play with UOA . Did I do something wrong, or just confused what this solution is supposed to fix? Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure if I understand your questions. UOA will not launch with UO wether I have 10 tries left on the update server, or 0 tries. I believe UOA has been disabled until it can properly update. But maybe I am doing something wrong

I'm not sure what the problem is. Seems this is some kind of windows, or windows firewall issue. UOA was launching fine a few hours ago even without connecting to update servers. Now it just completely disabled, as in it closes after I launch it.

This trick is only to reset counter - a workaround for to have the counters going. It will NOT contact update server, as it is down.

Had a few friends had problem to start uo assist - restart computer solved that problem.

Yes - it gives you 10 failures then shut down. This trick reset the failure count, so you can be able to use UO Assist. It will however count down to 0 again, and you have to redo the trick.

Anyone know if the Devs are aware of this? We could lose a fair chunk of the player base if we're left without UOA and the only alternative is the disliked EC. I renewed my playtime for six months just a week or so ago, I wouldn't have if this had happened before I ordered the EA cash cards online. Can the Devs make a replacement for UOA? At least something that will let us record a long series of keystrokes as macros we can save and run as needed? Many of us are getting old and have or will get arthritis, without UOA the game will become needlessly painful to play otherwise.

I did what mandrake suggests in first post, and it didn't work right away. My computers were shut off for about 6 hours while I was at work, when I got home, I tried again...UOA started working again. Don't know what exactly changed, still get unable to reach update server, but UOA working as normal.
