What is your home shard? You mean the guardian is stuck underground? Are you in Buc's den or Vesper( i think that the other city with underground caverns)? I know mage is basically useless in this situation. If you were on Legends, I could log in and maybe help ya.

Hey, at least your map wasn't inside the Fire Island Casino like one I had.....

No I forgot I was standing above the yew crypts. It would keep moving up and down, before I realized it was walking up the ramps in the crypts. Ran down there and got it.
On a non related note, am I the only one absolutely annoyed to death by grabbers? I have had 6 spawn out of the last 8 maps I’ve done and trying to catch them is ludicrous. Got one killed and had to spend five minutes because I lost where I dug up the chest (had like 50 maps in my bag and wasn’t opening all of them to find which one it was)

Grubbers *

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am a Mystic Tamer and I always have my Colossus out when I unlock the chest just for that reason. They chase the grubbers and have never had one that they didn't follow and kill and I've had a lot of them. I'd imagine EV's would do also but never tried them.

Note also that anyone who has done the SW quest and has a book with the spell can cast nature's fury (may take a few tries), to do the same thing, though you might want to get a bunch of 0-spellweaving characters together for a circle (they don't have to have done the quest). Gift of renewal with a level 6 focus is nice for a T-hunter even cast at 0 skill.

Similarly, humans can cast blade spirits from a scroll 25% of the time.

Do you always have to catch the grabbers? Do they steal stuff from the chests?

Do you use a tamer for T-Hunting Basara? What is your temlate? I use gargie mystic with 120 mystic/imbuing, 110 magery, 100 mining, 100 resist magic (drops to 65 with spell protection and reflect spells). For a tamer 120 SW is very good too (but then will have to get rid of music 120 and provo 120/peace 120)?? Thinking adding it to the tamer...lots of $$ for the SW 120 (6.5 M). Also SW 120 on a pet you think is worth it? Or should add it to the gargie instead ..funds are limited..
Thanks in advance..

Just for info, you can solo all levels of chests with a 120 Mystic THunter. I do it all the time.

The Grubber grabs something at random from the chest.

As for templates, I have 2 T-Hunters.

The first is a paladin Swordsman, that has a basic Swords/Chivalry/Anatomy/Tactics/Parry/Heal (with lots of skill from jewelry), that swaps out GM Cart and GM LP as needed.
The other is a Tamer mage, but only recently added the Taming. Her current template is Taming/Lore/Vet/Magery/Eval/Cart/LP.

SW is a pain in the arse to train all the way to 120. My weaver's template is 120 Mystic/120 Magery/120 (eventually - currently 116) Spellweaving, 120 Focus, 120 Eval, and about 60 Med. Most of the spells I cast these days are Mystic or SW. As Focus has the same effect on Mysticism as Imbuing, and helps with mana regen, I don't put Imbuing on any character that will go into combat (and my Weaver's suit is somewhere over 25 MR in addition to being overcapped on LRC, LMC, resists, etc.).

If a SW scroll is 6.5 for a 120, it means that people think it's not worth putting on a pet. Most of the useful scrolls for pets are 30-80 million for a 120.

That sounds great. What is your mystic's temp any other skills you are using? What tactic do you use for level 6 and 7 chests? Thanks in advance. Info will help as I am new to T-hunting.

120 Focus
120 Mysticism
120 Magery
100 Evaluate Intelligence
100 Lock Picking
100 Cartography
51.1 Mining

Tactic? Patience - a lot of it, most times I do not cast any spells, the more aggressive you get, the more you're going to die.

Level 7 Ilshenar maps are the very hardest and I can do alone but it takes forever so I usually take another character along to move it along, especially if you get 2 or 3 of the Renegade Changelings. Then it gets a little dicey.

I let the Colossus do the work depending on the chest level. I am very careful about casting offensive spells as that gets the monsters on me and to me that's a waste of time, much more efficient and quicker to let the Colossus work. I do cast Spell Plague and Sleep since they seem not to irritate most of the monsters.

I only have 51 mining as I use EC and there is no need for higher to find the chests. I always had 100 mining and I do like that for the convenience of standing back 3 more tiles when I dig the chest but I feel increasing the other skills was more beneficial.

There are many templates that folks use and none are right or wrong, it all boils down to the one you are most comfortable with and the one that you feel fits you. That's the beauty of this game -- the many many options we have for almost everything we do.

I can’t even work maps without using EC. The other day I had decoded a map for Malas and it said the point was in a star field. Looked it on the EC and point was 35 tiles to the right. Drove me nuts. If they had a way to even zoom in on the CC map I’d be happy but alas that is but a dream. And I keep 100 mining on mine so that I can stand further back, plus it don’t have to fill up a soulstone from my crafter. I use the mining to pop shadow iron eleys when someone wants or I need to train a pet.
My template has done pretty well so far.
120 taming
120 lore
100 cartography
100 lockpicking
100 mining
100 Magery
80 vet
I have come to love using the rune corruption/armor ignore giant beetle. Takes down most of the guardians with ease (ancient wyrms require a little healing because I don’t have a Taming three Mastery). Plus I can stick the gold stacks on the beetle to free up weight in my pack.
