Must have items?

Hi everyone.. I managed to place a modest house just outside Luna, this is great for me as I have no magery so being near the moongate is excellent. Are there any "must have" items I should be saving up for such as crystal portals or anything or should I just save up for souls stones?

For siege I wouldn’t waste gold on those items... we have the best travel system on the planet. I would use the gold for soulstones if you want them

Cheers dude... As for the travel is that the hubs?? I really need to check them out... Honestly the novelty of running everywhere hasn't worn off yet. I was surprised I found space so close to Luna though, thought all the spots would have been taken long ago

Are there any places on Siege ya can not get to without Magery? Knowing the Hubs and an occasional boat ride should get ya where ya want to go.

Wind is an exception of course. Any others?

Is magery a UO invented word? Spellcheck does not like it...

Funny how that is everyone knows what EVOO means right? Rachael Ray Cooking shows. (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) Same with the word Magery. Only you will not see it in places where EVOO is listed, only in links associated with UO.

crystal portal works to wind - doesn't it?

it does but you need to have 80 magery or above on your template to enter

on the items: I would absolutely recommend getting the crystal portals. Very convenient to get to places without leaving the house first

Soul Stones are always a solid investment unless you only intend to play one template. Siege does have an excellent transportation system, with Hubs, crystal portals, and public ship gating (you don't need any magery skill or regs, but you need a spellbook with at least gate spell in it). Getting a teletile set to link to one of the hubs can be very convenient, but you are close enough to a moongate. Many houses also offer public dye tubs, Rose of Trinsic, Luck Statue, etc so none of those are 'musts'. There aren't really very many 'musts' if you don't mind leaving your house. These ARE public places, however.

You will probably want to invest in an ethereal mount tho, and at some point a Commodity Deed Box.

Ah ha! Commodity deed box! Splendid idea! The soulstones are a must anyhow as imbuing will need to be taken off/on and I will probs want to swap around at some point but I will get this template fully finished first. Should be online in an hour or so!
