Word from the big bird, guess this will happen after next patch since it was already being testedWord is the phoenix got nerfed
I think the amount of PVP'ers crying fowl and those that actually left the game because of this is more important... there's no point on those other critical issues/updates if a big portion of the player base was leaving or has left the game already . Now i'm not saying that's the case but from what I heard it pretty much destroyed PVP for most, those phoenix were like the flash... couldn't get away from themSo this was soooooooo OP and unbalancing that a special update had to be made, while the many many other critical issues and long ago promised things, can't be added yet ? LOL
I had multiple members of my guild state they were done logging in until some of this was addressed and they have thus far followed through with it. Hopefully it is enough, because the pets pose plenty of other problems as well, such as being able to be made damn near unkillable in real fight situations.I think the amount of PVP'ers crying fowl and those that actually left the game because of this is more important... there's no point on those other critical issues/updates if a big portion of the player base was leaving or has left the game already . As long as they're going to be easier to tame now too, you know, if PvPrs should be able to "get away from them" so should the tamers when things go wrong trying to tame one.I think the amount of PVP'ers crying fowl and those that actually left the game because of this is more important... there's no point on those other critical issues/updates if a big portion of the player base was leaving or has left the game already . Really? For all phoenix? That's awesome. I love that art.My phoenix now looks like the ones in Eodon.
Yepp. Ones in Del Pass look like the Greater Phoenix now.Really? For all phoenix? That's awesome. I love that art.
That wasn't original art. It was just a red colored eagle.Omg gooses... the Phoenix is gone, more original art gone. Why? I do not care about slowing it down. Now it looks like a Christmas decoration. Arg!!! Can we have an option to keep the Phoenix as a Phoenix or choose the partridge it is now?
The original awesome Phoenix walked like it was pissed off. It was so fun to fight. The super sized version is just silly and belongs only in Eodon. Let us choose? Please.
I think in this case it's an upgrade. I still wish they would give us back the old balron art. Just black demons with swords. Such a waste that nothing uses the sword bearing demon art. It's so boss. That wasn't original art. It was just a red colored eagle.
I never understood why they changed demons and balrons in the first place.I think in this case it's an upgrade. I still wish they would give us back the old balron art. Just black demons with swords. Such a waste that nothing uses the sword bearing demon art. It's so boss.
Are the phoenixes in Eodon tamable same as the ones in Delucia pass?
Thanks - I was afraid of thatThey are part of a champ spawn. No
Because sometimes when they died it looked.... um..... age inappropriate.I never understood why they changed demons and balrons in the first place.
They should probably change character statue makers then... there are a couple ways to make them look rather pornographic if holding a certain type of item and putting the statues into particular poses...Because sometimes when they died it looked.... um..... age inappropriate.
Oh I remember that... but yes... it was very age inappropriate... Artists! hehe. They should probably change character statue makers then... there are a couple ways to make them look rather pornographic if holding a certain type of item and putting the statues into particular poses...
There was an in-town Luna house on Atlantic that had about 20 inappropriately posed statues overlooking the street not long ago.
Is there a pic of said house? I um... don't believe you, yea. They should probably change character statue makers then... there are a couple ways to make them look rather pornographic if holding a certain type of item and putting the statues into particular poses...

You guys have lost a vast majority of the real pvp base due to bringing this pet patch into place. You have allowed nightmares that releport a screen away directly on to your location and insta dismount you, you've allowed speedhacking birds to do the same. You guys have taken the little "skill level" that was left in the game and handed pets that are better than players to the masses. This was not thought out and was poorly executed. For that reason a majority of us have left OSI and I'm unsure if I have any intention of returning at this point. Until the real pvpers see some drastic changes made to the pvp aspect of this taming disaster, you'll have lost a large player base of this game. For the games sake, I hope you guys do the right thing and adjust pets away from player vs player interaction. Until then.... I'll remain inactive.
Can I have your friends stuff?@Bleak @Mesanna

AWESOME! Does this mean there will be less BS, cussing, and whining in gen chat now?@Bleak @Mesanna

Feel that way about a lot of things... Feel it's going to be nerfed into oblivion and we are right back where we were with nothing better to do but keep using the ole GD that isn't really good for much but being a meat shield... helping everyone but the tamer.Meanwhile, I don't tame a phoenix at all because all my trouble might go down the drain if it's changed - need some stability here
I would suggest not using any valuable powerscrolls on a pet for a month or two. The price of powerscrolls are going way, way up due to the increased demand for them and pvp'ers taking over spawns on many shards to establish a monopoly on the sale of them. That and I don't want to waste what precious few PS I have on something just to have it destroyed in a publish 6 weeks later.
Did you ever think you would see a 120 wrestle sell for more than a 120 mageI would suggest not using any valuable powerscrolls on a pet for a month or two. A 120 anatomy sold for 40m on a shard that was not Atlantic a few days ago.... they used to be like 5m-10m not that long ago
It's just not worth the risk of using valuable scrolls, the pet getting nerfed, then having to go buy a new one for triple the price they usually cost. After a month or two prices should come down to more reasonable levels as well.
Funny, I resubbed two accounts specifically for the tamer update. So they lost you, and gained two accounts from me. Seems like they're 50% up on subscriptions just between you and I alone.@Bleak @Mesanna

Tamed a phoenix and trained it up to 5 slot. Power Scrolled it and everything. I don't (or haven't since returning) PvP much and just wanted the pet as its size doesn't annoy the crap out of me like GD's do. I can actually see what it's killing. The changes they made didn't do much from a PvM stand point as far as I can tell. I must admit though, I've been spending the last week or so training up a blue beetle and a lesser hiryu. I then did treasure maps all weekend... hahaFeel that way about a lot of things... This made me remember PvPing in '98. When "reds" were really red - and didn't have easy ways out of it. It was a game changing decision, a way of life and you really had to think about it. If you had a good support group it made things easier. Back then PvP was fun. Reds would jump a blue in Wrong, they'd come back to Brit and tell people, we'd gather a force and go out to meet them. Amazing battles would happen. In the end, we'd end up ressing the reds or they'd res us depending on who won (red healers were nearly impossible to find and at the time only the Chaos shrine would res reds if I remember correctly). It wasn't about smack talk, or who was better. It was about the thrill of the fight. After ressing, each would go their own way until the next fight.Hi Aeyko,
I don't really consider you a pvper, I consider you an AOS superstar.
(If you were around prior to that, I didn't realise, Europa and Atlantic were properly split in those days, and we were shielded from the crap emanating from Atlantic).
You and your kind came in, you didn't know the values of UO pvp, and all you wanted was elitism, gear, items, weapons, and you and your ideas and whining along with the rest, completely took out the concept and values of skill, fun, spontaneity, and fun for the masses. It was not meant to be an elitist sport. It was meant to be about numbers, comradeship, fun. Losing was meant to be part of it, it was never meant to be about running, dismounting, reliance on potions, gear, win at all costs, speeding, scripting, EC, Steam etc.
Why do I say this, I say it based on what I've seen of Atalntic pvp, and the gutter players they bring to Europa.
I say this based on the fact you bought a 3.2b ring, which was antique... That says everything about your attitude to pvp.
I say this based on your input to the real patch that screwed up pvp, the pvp patch before the tamer patch - ie the one that nerfed pure mages who still attempted to use skill, in favour of hybreds and dexxers, who just use ec/rng and tons of op specials.
Last night, I was criticized for jumping into pvp on my mage, against 10 pro and 10 vp, solo, with no potions, no consumables, no voice comms etc.
I was told I couldn't win, I was making no effort, why do it.
Yeah I lost, yes I died a few times, but the reason was, spontaneousness, fun, just going out there and playing.
UO needs to go more in that direction for pvp, it needs to cater for the masses, not the elite.
In conclusion, this tamer patch is a lot of fun, and the pets really don't bother me. Pets are less hassle than OP specials on hybreds and dexxers.
In fact, I'm slowly building my way back into pvp, even though it is full of so many players with a bad attitude and playstyle (and I was extremely close to quitting myself).
