As a general rule I don't attack or kill anyone in game. The exception to that are scripters. The islands I call home and patrol seem to be a favorite hide out for LumberJack Scripters :( This one I watched for a while, when I unstealthed it auto hid, I used detect to reveal (The Hate is my Script Killer) said hello 3 times and got no response and auto hid again. Now to be fair I broadcast in GC last night that " I Really hope (Insert name) did not set up a Script house on my island." Fair warning that is the scripting continued I would be actively killing this thing. If it is your script toon you might want to find a new place to cheat as I patrol the two islands I live on regularly and dying on a island on Siege is just a pain since neither of my islands has a healer.

Tele tile at the Hub to -=1968=- Ocrina Island (Port Tyr) tile at -=1968=- goes to -=102=- My Amoeba Island house where the Scripters like to LJ. Feel free to patrol, camp the dirt plot script house and enjoy killing these vermin.

It obviously depends on how much a scripter lumberjacks and how many times you kill them but I wonder how many times you have to kill them before it becomes unprofitable. I'm sure that they'll find a new, safe place to script lumberjacking long before that happens...

I've tried on prodo shards but they have auto recall scripts...big part of the reason I started playing on Siege. They can hide but they can't run :)

They can't even hide from The Hate :) 100 detect 100 tracking 100 poison 120 mage 100 hide 75 stealth 100 necro 60SS with jewels and tali. I made this toon like 5-6 years ago just for tracking and killing scripters. It sometimes really amazes who's main comes to Rez their Scripting Alt. I usually hang around a while after on the full necro with 100ss so I can see how long it takes the script to realize it is dead and stop trying to perform actions. Don't worry not going to name drop :)

It's afk and click free. There's no amount of time you could kill them where it stops becoming profitable.

While killing them is a service to the community, not identifying after is a dis-service...imo. You don't owe them anything by protecting their identity. They didn't "learn their lesson and they'll do it again".

Shhhhhh - don't TELL them that you hang around to see who comes to rez the alt!

I agree with Garth that a scripter caught with their hands in the cookie jar should be outed - but it's hard to provide rock solid PROOF, and you run the risk of all the drama that comes with accusations. And even if you do have proof, I advise against naming names on Stratics.

Just my opinion on this, but if they are clever enough to not get caught, and persistent enough to keep at it anyway, then they've earned a place on Siege. If nothing else, they give virtue a bit of vice to go after! If they do get caught tho, they deserve for Darwin to attend to them.

I think that @Tanager is simply saying that you can script on a prodo shard, pretty much, with impunity on the non-felucca facets but there is a little more work to be done on Siege and a little more risk. Ultimately, though, I completely agree with what @cazador posted.

I have a fairly Darwinian approach to this game.

Not saying I condone scripting, or that I condone cheaters in general. However, I feel Siege has enough freedom for people to make choices. Yes, I realize it's not a game mechanic, and it is in fact against the rules of the game, but to me it's still an aspect of Siege. It is all VvV to me. So, just in my opinion, a cheater has a role to play on Siege just like thieves, murderers, and other outlaws in this game. What others in the community do to police them is also a form of freedom.

Yes, script farming is all profit and so nothing you do to interfere will actually cost them anything that they would have had if they'd stayed offline. But getting the char rezzed over and over takes real in-game time and might annoy them enough to take their program to prodo. The risk of getting their ID exposed might also deter a few. Siege is not a shard for the weak willed or simple minded. If they manage to persist, successfully, then that is what I mean by 'earning a place' on Siege. Determined or clever Vice gives Virtue a challenge.

Still, it's just my opinion. I'm big on freedom.

Well thank you gentlemen, I'm glad we can appreciate each other despite our differences!

It may come as a shock - hahaha - but I am kinda out there on the left. I understand why society has rules and laws and customs, and I abide by them, but I find them oppressive. I think that's the main reason I spend so much time in a fantasy world that has so little of it.

Won't give the name on Stratics but if you want to know who, and I hope it is a duplicate name and not the real one on the house sign. Got to the Zento Hub step on the tile pointed out and it takes to my secondary island. From the island house go East one screen and there is the Scripters dirt plot. Since I started whacking this one he has been laying low. As far as it being profitable when you spend more time seeing the world in monochrome than color....... there ain't much profit.

Stopped by just after midnight eastern, nobody logging, but at least he put a house on the plot. I'll be up all night and will swing by every so often to keep him paranoid. :)

Both of my houses on the Island are public and the tele tile on the North most houses porch goes to the Zento hub so you are safe should any wild bigger hostile critters be roaming the island. I only go after Scripters wild critters are unfortantely not very selective :(

I have not caught him out and about in quite a while now. will keep checking though as long as there is a script house there.

Sadly I dropped both of my Houses on Amoeba Island Yesterday. Two house spots I have wanted back for quite some time opened up and I decided to use the accounts with the Amoeba houses to place those houses. Two nice island spots even if small that are great for Lumber Jacking and fishing are open on Amoeba now :)

I locked down a rune to it under the sign of my greenhouse next door to my house. Location is under my sig.

EDIT: Straight south of Britian, about halfway to the Fens of the Dead.

Red Circle and Arrow is Amoeba Island. Purple is Marble Island. Orange Circle is Ocrina (My Island and Port Tyr) Yellow is Cresent or Horseshoe Island depending on who you ask.

Weird. When I did a google search for "ultima online amoeba island" it shows it at the southern most tip of the Trinsic swamp forests?

The one you have circled in red it shows as "Eiffel Island." I dunno.
