If you attempt to imbue any ring or bracelet that is not made with iron ingots you get the message "the special materials in this item are too old to survive the imbuing process" even on newly crafted jewelry.

Minor imbuing bug.

It is not a BUG, it is working as intended. You may only imbue items made from basic material, iron,leather and wood. Once it has been enhanced with other material it becomes un-embuiable.
You would be correct if he asked about reforging. You can imbue a barbed leather item or a valorite item. You can only reforge plain stuff.
That message happens if you try to imbue really old items also.
That has been in the game for months. I always made rings and bracelets from high end ore to imbue just for the looks, but now you can't imbue anything but iron.
