Hail Siege!

Another goal of the Siege Perilous Historical Society is to locate, catalogue, and publicize the many unique and rare items on the server. We would like to support discussions of items' origins as well as verify known quantities and owners. For instance, Vinny ( @VinnySP ) and I have been discussing the Halloween item "A Festive Skeleton Mask".


According to the Stratics wiki, this is a unique item on Siege in two hues (Hue 143, as shown, and Hue 997, a charcoal color, not pictured). The wiki reports it as an EM item from 2004.

In 2014, Kelmo ( @kelmo ) posted a thread indicating he had found one of them (Just so ya know. I found the Festive Skeleton Mask.).

However, I was under the impression these were a Halloween drop, but going back through the Halloween entries on UO Guide 2006 - 2016 left me empty handed.

So the question is, who on Siege owns one of these? Is it orange (like above) or is it charcoal colored?

Also, the one pictured above is on display in the [SPHS] Zento house, along West Zento across the street from the boat house if you need to compare it.

I do remember, and I appreciate it! The Mask has been on display ever since. If you can find the others and post a screenshot, that would be excellent. I *think* these were early Halloween drops, not an EM event, but until more turn up the only documentation on it seems to be Kelmo's thread and the wiki.

Well, we have confirmed these are not 1 of 1 items. Vinny found one of each hue among his collection, and has placed them on display at the Rares Museum (screenshot attached). So there are at least two of each color. @BrianFreud you may want to update the wiki entry for these. If anyone else finds either version please post here with a pic, to date Vinny, Kelmo, and myself are verified owners. It would be great to nail down where these came from (EM event, Trick or Treat, etc).

@Silent Singer, thanks; I think the (1) came from Manticore's listing. I had very little info on Siege rares to work with; if you guys were to add what's missing, and correct what you see that's wrong, that'd be awesome - and it'd make a better resource for you as well.

I have both the orange and black, they did come from an em style event, though I got them in a trade. The event was a looooooooooong time ago, and I didn't personally attend. Like 8 years ago or something.

I first remember seeing the items in large castley house full of rares and hard to get items that used to be outside of Umbra.

Well, good news is we've established that they are not unique, and several (5+) are known to still exist. Also, we know they are from an old event, but not Trick or Treating. So that is a good start! Now we just need someone who was present to chime in with some detail!

Famine pointed out to Vinny that there is a third version, a white one. Vinny found one after some searching:

I had a bright orange one a while back. It would of dropped from the small 10x7? in Luna right by the west exit. Not sure if that is one of the ones being inventoried, but that might be 1 more.

Could be plant dyed? Not sure.

Fairly sure I acquired it before plant dyes were introduced. Even thought it might be hero dyed. I had a bone helmet that was hero dyed and the colors didn't match at all.

Just a note on the wiki, specifically with regards to Siege (and Mugen). The data for those shards was pretty slim. Anything with counts likely came from Manticore's list. But I know there's a good many Siege rares still not in the wiki, and that the data about the ones in there may need fixing. Please feel free to edit/add, or drop me a PM if you want any help figuring out how to do that.
