As some of you already know, the guild leader for B^A is leaving Siege. Igg has been an import part of the community here for a long time. He helped many people transfer from production shards by assisting in gold transfers, he worked hard to maintain little pieces of Siege history at his museum, and he served as a trustworthy third-party for various groups who were antagonistic against each other to safely make trades. He also served as the contact point between several now-departed Siege players and the current player base. His absence will be a noticeable detriment to the server.
After discussing this with Vinny ( @VinnySP ) and Talia (@Spiffykeen ) we have decided to not carry on the B^A guild. Igg was the integral piece that brought a lot of players together, and without him it wouldn't be the same. Instead, the three of us are founding a new guild. The Siege Perilous Historical Society [SPHS] (founded 1-24-17) will in some ways carry the work started by Igg forward. Now that Vinny owns both Igg's collection of Siege rares as well as his own significant collection, he is busy putting it all together for public display. But Vinny also represents the PVP aspect of Siege, and will lead the [SPHS] activities focused around that element of the Siege community. Talia has been active on Siege for a long time, and for much of that period has served as the governor of Moonglow. An active corsair on the high seas as well as a preeminent crafter, she has the ability to interface with the new counsel as well as continue providing support to the community at large. Finally, I will act as the Guild Leader of the [SPHS], organizing events, recruiting members, and setting up weekly guild activities.
While the [SPHS] is beginning with us three as its founding members, we hope to support Tanager's efforts with [NOOB] by providing whatever assistance we can to Siege's newest members. We are interested in attracting players (both existing Siege vets and NOOB graduates) based on the following:
1. Active players = We want a guild roster that shows members online. We want players who play on a regular basis.
2. Laid-back players = We want members who can brush off getting PK'ed or losing a suit to a spawn without a big fuss.
3. Finally, we want players who act according to the rule,"Don't be a ####". Fighting and looting are a part of Siege, but taking a [NOOB] members entire suit and cutting it up into bandages, well that's just being a ####. We don't want that.
We look forward to working with the shard on several activities and events. To kick this off, the Siege Perilous Historical Society [SPHS], in coordination with the city of Moonglow (our patron city), will be hosting a fishing contest in the near future. I'll be posting the rules in a separate thread, and I encourage all shard members to participate. There will be ways for all players to engage in competition, even those who do not have the fishing skill.
Thanks for taking the time to read this, and please feel free to contact me via PM if you have questions, concerns, or interest in the guild.
