When you read that what is it that you think of? The Zoo, or a Circus act right? Not here, no sir. This was more like King Kong, tossed in with the Might Joe Young.

The Tower criers had announced, “Rumors abound of an ancient Minosian beast captured! “ and for all to meet at the EM hall, located just wee bit from the Britain Moon gate. Due to the timing of the request to attend there was not a lot of folks around. Guilds that I did see were a few members [GIL], all of [Hi5], and a few members [TDO]. I also saw individuals from, I assume, family guilds or not in a guild....

Next step, cry for Mesanna to add trammel rules to Siege. Well done getting the EM to favoritism Sieges large guild.

Back in 1997 all was crying about this bad PK's and devs first added stat loss for reds 1998 and then the first Trammel facet and Item Insurance for the carebears 2000. After that several more trammel facets.
In 1999 we got Siege, without stat loos and Trammel and Item Insurance was not added. It started out great, with a lot of fun and PvP. Sadly we did get a lot trammel code items balanced for Item Insurance.

I do not want to try to list all the bad changes we had got over the years, but the shard are very close to become Trammel and sure, the ones who survive best are the crafters and the non PvP'ers.

Then we get an EM, who choose to play God and go against the last pieces of the Siege ruleset and Bless the ones who survive best on the shard. Sadly it failed badly, the only ones I saw try hard to kill the boss was the PvP'ers, the rest, I guess, was not ready to risk lose items to the big red heavy looting npc PK. Why do the EM expect someone, who won't fight a real PK if they risk looting, to fight a big Boss PK?

I personly don't mind to risk loot fighting other player but losing stuff to a big boss, noone can kill is like see you loot decay before you can get to it. To kill it, players need good items but as we do not have Item Insurance, it will get very expensive trying and I believe the reason so few did attent was the same as so few are villing to fight PK's. Items are to expensive here and it is not worth it.

At least the 2 suits HI-5 got and the bows will be reused, the stuff this stupid boss looted is lost to no use.

I'm sure, had it not been a looting monster, you would had seen GIL in full force trying to kill it as you placed it in Guard zone and maybe you had had success with making HI-5 help.
Still VvV'ers like me, Sargatanza and others would had been left out as we would had been a nice target for HI-5, and noone would dare to help as one said, I'm told not to rez and heal as it will make me orange = dead and loot able.

I know my post is a mess and may not make much sense but I had been up sinse 2 am my time to try to be at the event, only to lose 4 suits, 2 to HI-5 and 2 to the boss without even to get close to get an reward from helping killing the boss that was still alive when I had to go to work 5:30 am my time.

Even when the event was in guard zone, HI-5 managed to kill the boss when all others gave up and get the rewards. I had to leave for work, so I don't know if the Boss was nerfed again, like at last event.
GIL's excuse was, they did not want to HI-5 kill it so instead of all helping each others and all get a reward, HI-5 was only one who got some and as they now are rare, some will pay a lot to get one or them all to keep them rare.

So did GIL help HI-5 or not, that's the question

Yeah the EM essentially made it so you had to trap the boss in with a hard object and kill it with an archer. Every other avenue was out of the question due to the fact it was in guard zone. No energy field trapping or rising colossus spamming unless we pinned it against the west mountain where we had THREE tiles of non-GZ.

GIL just kept taking the item we used to trap the boss in so we pretty much had to wait until they all logged to kill it. Had it not been in guard zone, we'd have just repeatedly killed GIL and it wouldn't have dragged on for six hours.

Genius move, Bennu. Now I'm tired for work.

You know I am sick and tired of thy holily then I preaching you told me to shut up in the game now I could say the same here but I respect you for whom you are, a long time Siege player who I wish would quit with the attacks on those Guilds of Siege . Next time drop the VvV and maybe others would res you and others would not attack you, I lost parts to at least three suits, once to the monsters and the rest to the others around there when I died to the monster and they, members of other guilds looted my body before I could get back. The suits I have no concerns about, its stuff I can get made, however, Kenzie says she wants her dress back . Congrats to those that did manage to kill it.

Boss monster inside a guard zone, not dead after three hours, most gave up, thinking of returning later with more folks, others returned early and get it trapped killing with an archer attacks. I would have posted that but there this silly requirement that the article has to be 300 words.

Oh yeah, just act like all the trammies, stay blue, use stealth, etc, not my style, sorry. If I wanted to be safe, I had played Prodo shards.

I'm not complaining about my lost gear, I knew I was going to lose it as i had told, I would help fight against HI-5. Won't happen again. I will still fight HI-5 but not to help GIL. I don't care about this EM item, I never cared much about deco items but I must say, with that EM favoritism you got, I'm happy to see, HI-5 got the items.

It should have been out of GZ plain and simple. The sole tactic *required* to kill it in GZ is the same tactic GIL said was 'questionable' during the ettin boss event. Additionally, it kept all blues safe from being killed and looted while they foiled every attempt at anyone trying to kill it for several hours by picking up the bagball.

We shouldnt have to play carebear. We should be able to take and defend it against other guilds while we kill it, unless that guild kills us!

He did not have to after EM Hawker stepped down. If he was to say "Sorry Siege no more events for you", I bet you be leading the cheering section. Maybe you should ask @Mesanna to lead that section. Then we can all say "Ya Freja got her way once more".

I wasn't there, but I'll take the "Sorry Siege no more events for you" way. An EM who's been at it as long as he has, he sure is terrible at it. This shard's in bad shape. When I get back from this road trip I'm on, I'm making a bunch of decent suits and going back to being a stealth assassin. That means, watch your healthbars folks, I'm terrible at 1v1 pvp but I can watch a healthbar until it's in the red. . Cheezy ? sure, but no different from the tactics currently being used by both sides right now, so....... why not ?

I wish I could've gone just to watch how the event started and ended, unfortunately for me, my hard drive blew up It seems a lot of fighting between guilds has gone off, I hate to see that. I think its nice that they managed to kill the boss though. Better luck next time guys! I'm thinking of doing a simple, yet fun event. Maybe we can all get along and just enjoy it. (If not that's okay too...) I have a few ideas stored for Christmas, and maybe reviving the old newspaper side of myself. I was unable to attend but just trying to get the whole picture so we can maybe get something constructive feedback to the EM.

Issues:

-Event was in a town with guard zone (once in a while that is fine as you want to mix things up - benefits some that would not participate otherwise, hurts reds and lone VvV players). For Siege this should happen only occasionally.

-Monster was over powered for siege because of its low population, and access to items compared to Prodo shards. Could only be killed with specific skills and templates.

-Monster was a looter: This kills participation on siege because no one can afford to continue to fight against an npc boss if they are looted each death. Its bad for shard and moral of everyone.

I do not find that ok on Siege, not even occasionally. Events outside guard zone was never a problem in the past. Town zone events are total against Sieges ruleset. If Siege can't handle a few PK's, the shard had lost it's perilous part. Aurora made a Siege Olympia or someting with hurdles, Rowboat race, archery competition and some more. At that Rumpy and co. was making terror on Siege but she managed to make break for fighting between the events parts. I know the the issue we have on Siege at the moment make it harder to keep this fights at the event free of heavy looting , however respect for an EM do help the case.

An other issue I have is, placing a big monster is not much of an event in my eyes and most Siege players do not play Siege to kill a big boss monster. I like a little more puzzle around the event. I know that take a little more than 5 mins to arrange, maybe a kind of quest.

Now what really annoyed me was EM Bennu's attitude, I don't think he respect us. He do not work with the shard like former EM's had done. Siege need our own EM, who care about us and respect we are a different kind of shard. I know, that not easy. I rather saw Mesanna use this 5-10 min to set up an event for us, we do not call her the Dark Lady for nothing, I remember her being a part of events here before and she had the right spirit for Siege.

And why should he respect us, as I said above he volunteers to give this shard an event out of busy schedule from being the Atlantic EM. Remember when he posted the information about when he would be able to put events on, how people cried so unfair. I think he has gone far and wide beyond being respectful of this shard by giving us an event once a month. Then there is this from above.

That really irk my butt, how is it that this event favoritism any guild. It just made it harder for others, but they were able to adapt to the [bcolor=#ffffff]situation[/bcolor] and win the prize in the end. I have to admit that, you know who did it again, for being such a small group of players they are good at what they do, PK. I just don't care for the known hacks and cheats they use. Or the ploys to lure players to traps, or those attempts to retrieve map information from this "Sieges large guild" members. Or the threats and insults in the game. I will admit that I was shocked to see a message from Zora during the Zento attack, "good job". That was because Kenzie escaped using her stealth skills. That I take as a "Salute" from an enemy. You, however, I do not Salute, I do respect you for the one and only thing you have going for you, a long time Siege player. Maybe you need to change the saddle on that broomstick you been on. TTFN.

I don't care about your respect. Take me as I am or leave me alone. You can call me what you want but you can't change me. I choose who I call friends and choose who I disrespect.

I have friends between them, but the ones I know less, May attack me and even loot me. Also when they are running in a gank like at the event, they may decite, to attack all they can, no matter of friendship and even loot. That's how a PK guild work. I had lived all my time in UO betwwen PK, that's my game, that what keep me playing. I want them to be here, I want to feel alive.

Shield Lube?

Any weaponry uses lube to keep it's performance at maximum efficiency. Without keeping your armory up to date and polished they become rusted. Our message was we are staying here for a long time. We are lubing all our weapons. They will be sparkly and shiny. We are not leaving and this is our long-term goal. You must be thinking about real life reporters then, it's all fiction, assumptions, and conjecture in UO. Look at the last few articles I did for Siege and Sonoma, all in-game fiction. The facts I have seen so far is of your people is you are a bunch of butt heads, you keep hitting that same wall over, wanting VvV items etc.
