[Discussion] I think we've finally reached it...

legendaries I paid 300-400m for just 8 months ago are now on vendors for 5m. The decrease has been so rapid that vendors are all over the map for almost identical items. I see a ton of jewels and armor these days on the boards that are nice pieces but aren't absolutely insane, so they aren't selling well.

I feel as though we've reached a tipping point in the UO economy again...
An over abundance of amazing equipment in UO... Lots to sell with no one buying!

What do you think?

No mate.... It has always been like this . What was "pvp" uber years ago now it's crap. Or months ago good legendaries were indeed 300/400 mils worth and now u may find them for 50. It's just about the quality... It's always increasing. Just few items will keep good prices , I imagine fc 1 reforged mage weap bokutos and other leet items... What u want to do is to make suits full of no names now hehe

I dont see it. I'm just coming back from a 6 month summer break and yes there some armor out there but nothing crazy. When I left there where suits posted daily! Now scarps. It seem like more players have left. Im still looking for high end archer stuff. Please let me know what you find.

Game sucks. If they actually payed attention to it and made it so everyone doesn't have to only play archers and parry mages more jewels would sell and gear would be viable and would sell. All people are looking for are the same jewels, same pieces, same shields all day everyday. RIP UO, killed by the devs.

What I find more shocking than the lack of sales and the amazing items that come on this board is the lack of places to attempt to "farm". It could be that I am stuck in my ways but it's hard to believe that the "roof" seems to be the only spot in game where these items come from. You can try other spots with a near max luck suit but it just doesn't produce no matter how many times you complete the cycle. What a bummer.

I have seen some pretty decent pieces of armour sell for the 25 million range . Even armour which has 9 or more mods on it can be useless if it does not fit into your set up. Thus those items
may not sell . I think part of whats happening is the player base that we have now, only need a piece here or there to finish up there suits. Or are complete and are only upgrading at this point. With out a continous growth of new players its going to be difficult to sell all that's coming on the market at this time. On the other hand lower prices makes it more affordable for the new players coming into the game.
What amazes me is the high prices that some of the really high end ANTIQUE jewerly sells for even though it wears out so quickly. I guess its purchased as leet equipment for PVP and when it wears out they just go and by a new and similar piece.

There are tons of legendary artifacts not worth a damn, but the good ones will always retain some of their value. I have noticed though that the Mid Grade no names are going for ~ 1/2 what they were back in spring, but I think this has to do with some high rollers taking a break from the game.

I concur with the OP. Uber-loot is the new normal. If you know where to look, you can find it easily and for bare bottom prices... even with the growth in inflation the game has experienced.

Even when new players come to the guild I am in... I can usually outfit them with all 6 pieces of armor that are all low-tier legendaries and major artifacts, along with half-way decent jewels... and I do it for free because of having such an over supply of all of that type of gear. I do it to help the players out, but I also wonder if I'm doing them a disservice by giving them that type of gear to start out with...

I don't know what the solution of this issue is. Everyone cries bloody murder at the emergence of any ideas that act as a gold sink. Guilds that chain the roof and exodus non-stop are simply accruing so much high end gear, that the definition of what is 'high-end' has changed dramatically since the release of Time of Legends a year ago.

It depends on what your trying to accomplish in the game. If you go out with a warrior and your not into PVP buying leet Antique jewerly will wear out in no time even with repairs, compared to non antique jewrly. But for occassional
PVP and if you want the best jewelry in most cases Antique is the way to go.
I end up buying multiple pieces of armour so I can mix and match suits for the most optimal set up. I don't know why but I find it a fun challeng.

never understood the artifacts and prices .... i have similar pieces valued by peeps on here at 5m/10m.... to pieces selling for 100m-500m by some shady folks......just cant get my head around why 1-2 points makes such a huge difference.....

If you build special armor you will get an idea why a part may worth a lot of gold.
At some Point you will stuck..
You will have a minimal gap. When looking in your chests with hundrets of items and don't find the one point and also in vendor search you will not find this item, you know you have to pay.
Building suits gives you a feeling what is worth and what is crap.

@Riply - antique is the only way to get absolutely nasty jewels. And I'm the kind of person that has multiple options for both mages and decrees fully suited, so my jewels last forever- because I don't play 1 character every night I get on. You'd be surprised how long they last in pvp - not super good for pvm, but I just switch out my jewels for that.


I also agree with multiple posts. Farmers be farming - ''tis a game created to do that, so go for it.

I also agree that UO has seasons and tends to follow a school schedule - bigger turnouts through the school year with breaks during summer and winter.


It's crazy how mages just having 65dci was dope back in the day. Now, perfect suits are everywhere. Max everything!

I know times change and trends change- just seems much faster than in previous game shifts. It could all be perspective as well...
