Man i must really be off, can someone help me understand what properties are sought after in a splintering weapon? Thanks

Non brittle would be the first thing to look for. Splintering weps MUST be non brittle to hold any value.

Brittle is a huge downside cause it will break itself very fast. (Splinter naturally damages item), so being brittle means your repairing more often, and can never POF it, so it will break eventually.

here are the mods I see people wanting with splinter.

50% Spell hit (Fireball, lightning)
DI/SSI
Hit Lower Attack/Hit lower Defense

mage splinters fetch allot !
They would need anything above, plus
-20 Mage Weapon
Spell Channelling
Faster Casting 1 (as long it doesn't have negative it has this if its spell channelling)
and 15% dci is always nice.

Also splinter is just for PvP- so two handed weps without balancing, means no potions, so less interest. Also the type of weapon can make or break it because of the abilities it can use. Skinning Knifes, Hatchets seems to be very wanted because of their abilities

@Yogi969 even splinter weapons with mage weap, spell channeling, if it's a 25-30% splinter, and decent with say fireball or something, even -1 FC is okay, won't sell for as much, but with town bonus it makes it easier to recuperate the faster casting loss! but yeah, Brittle is the #1 ruiner in a splinter weapon, or imbued. Also, only certain weapons are people looking for splinter on (unless it's uber with 30% splinter 50+fireball/lightening, HLD), but things like Bone Harvesters, War Forks, and Hatchets, Butcher's Knives, Kryss, Wakizashi, (Bokutos people like even though it slightly ruins the stun with nerve strike) things like lances, scimitar have useless specs on the weapons, so no one wants them, you would rather downgrade to a lesser modded weapon to get the special attacks you need, than to have things like scimitars
