Kotl Black Rod - is it effected by the wood its made from?

when you make the new Kotl Black Rod is it effected by the wood you make it from?
example, if you make it from Bloodwood do you get the HPR?
if you make it from Yewwood do you get the HCI?
Frostwood the +DI boost?

No, it isn't - I made one out of Bloodwood last week to check, and it didn't get the HPR.

On the bright side, you can use a CURSED staff of the Magi from the old events to make it, and the resulting staff isn't cursed.

Edit: CONFIRMED - the cursed Hat of the Magi also make non-cursed glasses.

It's based on a quarter staff right?

Anybody try enhancing or imbuing a Kotl Black Rod? I was hoping to add SDI or DCI to it.

ive got a couple extras ill go give it a try for ya.

you cant enhance it - you get the message "this item is already enhanced with the properties of a special material"

you CAN imbue it but it already hast he cap amount of items on it (5) so you can do anything but fiddle with those 5 items.
funny thing, out of those 5 items we dont even have the option to meddle with them.
LRC and LMC are not things we can do with weapons so that just leaves the SC which we cant take off or alter and the FC 2 which again we can change and you could drop it if you wanted same with the mage weapon 0.
BUT in the end you cant mess with it because the item is soooooooooooo grossly over-weighted that you can even begin to mess with it.
its like 938/550 for weight.

so to answer your question.
no.
you can not imbue or enhance the Kotl Black Staff.
